[Spoiler] Mayu?

Did I miss a scene before Mayu got splattered all over the walls? Episode one ends with Seiko and Naomi and then, in episode 2, it skips straight to Morishige being weird with his cellphone over Mayu's remains. Was there a scene in between that I missed somehow?

Her death comes after that, when the story shifts to Yui-sensei but there's no backstory on how Mayu got there, what she was doing and why she wanted to stay with those kids.
