It's interesting that a priest would name his son Diavolo out of all names. He certainly lived up to it once he had reached the age of 19.

It's miraculous that Polnareff was able to survive all those life threatening injuries long enough for the Speedwagon Foundation to tend to him. The past has come back to haunt him with Trish the Boss triggering King Crimson's powers to somehow reach the arrow all the way up there.

Buccelati, literally tangled up with the boss, stumbled upon Polnareff and the investigation began. Despite Diavolo's immense power, he is often depicted struggling, very similar to Kira. But, despite Polnareff's precautions, he has made his move.

As for the greater world building and context of everything since part three, this has been huge. In 1986, 15 years ago, Diavolo went on a date before burning down his town. We can assume this is when he took the photograph and Trish was conceived. Following this and the loss of his identity, a 19-year-old boy with a fabricated identity excavated the arrows in Egypt. Eventually following the lead, Polnareff discovered the truth and brutally lost in combat against Diavolo.

With everything pointing towards Diavolo digging up the arrows and selling four of them to Enya, the entire story has been contextualized. From Diavolo came Enya and from her came Dio and his army of stand users. From Enya, Kira and Keicho's fathers got their arrows. The events of Stardust Crusaders and Diamond is Unbreakable all started with Diavolo. We can see the ripples.

Before Diavolo, we even learned of where the arrows came from. The virus meteor which forced evolution or death was cultivated into weaponry by a mysterious man. And the rest is history.

This creates an effect similar to Cars role in Battle Tendency. The stone mask created Dio's vampirism, and following Phantom Blood, we face off against the creator of the mask. It makes me wonder where we will go from here!

We finally got Doppio's backstory. I preferred the anime version since it showed it once Doppio was introduced for the first time (placement felt more natural) but this is still was decent
