Is stand by me doraemon the end of the Doraemon franchise why?

When I heard the news that stand by me Doraemon is going the last of the franchise I was shocked, although I can deal with endings and I know it is a cgi remake of the Doraemon anime special Goodbye Doraemon.

Still when I heard it is going to be the last Doraemon movie and it will be considered the end of the Doraemon anime franchise I was surprised by it, All I need to know is why would Motoo Abiko (co-creator and only surviving member of the Doraemon manga creators duo Fujiko Fujio) and the anime production company decided to end the franchise.

I heard this too. I think it's a false rumor tbh. Doraemon is still very popular in Japan and all over the world.

Yeah, I think it was a false rumor too. Or I think by the "end" they mean the conclusion of the whole series. I mean the anime(2005) is still ongoing.
