Year 24 Group

While the membership of The Year 24 Group is not official, the term refers to the of female mangaka who completely revolutionized shoujo manga, and whose influence can be seen in every modern shoujo work. The term comes from the fact that many of them were born in the year Showa 24 (1949; for this reason they are also occasionally referred to as the Forty-Niners).
