Discotek Media Appreciation Club

Discotek Media is an entertainment corporation in the business of licensing, translating, and releasing Japanese anime movies, OVA and TV series, as well as the occasional cult film thrown in for good measure to home-video release to the North American market. Despite being formed in 2005, they didn't become active in the anime business until around 2008 (their early output consisted mostly of samurai movies with a couple of old Toei anime movies thrown into the mix). Since then, they have become quite well known for licensing a lot of vintage anime from the 1970s to the 1990s, along with re-releasing titles whose licenses have lapsed, and also occasionally licensing more recent series (seeing them with anything produced since 2000 is a rarity). Although they don't dub titles themselves, if a dub exists, they will include it with the release as long as it syncs to the masters they use, like the Lupin III - Mystery of Mamo release which includes all 4 English dubs. Their releases are very affordable compared to FUNimation and Sentai, and they track down the best sources (be it from film prints or even blu rays) to use for their releases, or if not available, will create new masters specifcally for their release, like Locke the Superman and Fatal Fury The Motion Picture. Basically, any announcement they make causes any anime fandom to rejoice.
