The Animation Kobe (アニメーション神戸) was an event established by Kobe in 1996 to promote anime and other visual media. The Animation Kobe Awards (アニメーション神戸賞) were given annually until 2015 by Kobe and the Organizing Committee to creators and creations.

The TV animations broadcast in Japan from September of the previous year to August of the event year, excluding rebroadcasts, become candidates. The candidates are selected not only from Japan but also from other countries. However, the committee sees more importance in a point of view promoting young creators of Japan.

Series where stories don't follow a straight timeline, sometimes causing a bit of confusion in the viewers. Other times, it's almost negligible that the events occur out of order. Plot heavy stories that employ a non-chronological narrative leave it up to the viewer to piece the story together, which can be fun and rewarding!

Most anime about school clubs focus on some sport or other common activity. That is, the focus of the anime is the same as the focus of the club. But what if that focus wasn't so discrete? What if there wasn't a focus at all?

Here, the point of the club is just to make fun of other clubs: poking fun at their portrayal, misusing the setting, and overall making us question the club's existence.

Or maybe there really is no point to the club. You're just thinking too hard.

This is more so from a comedic (often satirical) standpoint, so I'm leaving out shows that have a club as a setting but really only use it as a vehicle to bring the members together. A few of the shows in this stack toe the line, but I'm thinking more so of shows like Love Lab or Haganai specifically that wouldn't belong in this stack.

I'm not omniscient so feel free to make suggestions.

Mostly anime that try to follow Knox's rules of detective fiction, with few exceptions. Only includes anime I would recommend.

Could still include more Conan-related stuff, Mouryou no Hako, Ranpo Kitan: Game of Laplace and others.

Romantic couples or potential couples in which the girl has the dominant personality in the relationship. Girl tends to tease and/or order her male love interest around, and takes the lead in most situations.

We all know that Kyoto Animation has been important to us, wider audience. But unfortunately, a tragedy struck in the studio and caused many casualties and unintentional deaths of innocent lives. Kyoto Animation is known for its animation quality and comfortable story writing. Some of their works were various; comedy, romance, drama, action, and slice of life. Now, this is my collection of KyoAni's best works that touched many hearts.

We've all experienced that frustrated feeling of enjoying an anime, only to find out that the rest of the show will never be fully animated or it has a horrible, rushed, incomplete, unsatisfying ending. Here is a list of anime with endings that are so fulfilling and complete that they will leave you with nothing but a heart full of contentment and/or bittersweetness. List was created through collective data from multiple websites of people's answers as to what shows are considered to have satisfying endings.

List of anime featuring at least one LGBT+ character that aren't BL or GL. I try to only put those that are either confirmed canon (in story or by the author) or so explicitly implied that there's little to none other interpretation.

-------------------------------------

>>> SOME NOTES:

- Not all of these are "perfect" representations. Some more controversial portrayals have a warning in the comments.

- (Recent update) Edited the list so that characters who's sexuality is more "up for debate" are now written down as MLM/WLW instead of the mouthful Gay/Bi/Pan (which I'd forget to write in some places anyway)

- All nonbinary people are transgender. If a character is described as nonbinary instead of trans it's just to specify that that's what the anime more heavily points at.

- For the "not BL/GL" rule I went with whatever the anime is tagged as on MAL (though some of these I believe should've been tagged when they're not...). List might change as MAL keeps editing stuff.

-------------------------------------

Please note that some of these I either haven't seen at all (look at the ratings to tell which ones they are) or watched long ago and don't remember well, so don't expect this to be 100% accurate.

They may be exceptionally intelligent, possess Superhuman strength, hypersonic Speed & Agility… But some of them are also fearful, aloof, ditzy, clumsy, lazy, gluttonous, greedy, childish and/or terribly near-sighted: Cyborgs, Robots, Androids, A. I. Projections who - on second glance - are NOT that 'perfect' after all but rather more similar to any living Human of Flesh & Blood, and that's probably why we tend to fall for them so easily...

Anime with characters who consistently show actually autistic traits - stimming, obsession with very specific things and themes, social phobia, unwillingness to change routines, monotone or stereotyped speaking, strict habits, lack of interest in personal exchanges, difficulty building/maintaining relationships, unusual manners and gestures, selective but very strong empathy etc.

Curated by yours truly, late-diagnosed autistic male in his 30's, eager to see more adult autistic representation.

As this list becomes more and more popular (thanks everyone! Feedback appreciated!), I'm adding a friendly reminder: Autistic people are as diverse as neurotypical people are. This list could contain every character from every anime ever made and still be accurate as autistic rep! I just add the ones who "score higher" in showing more common autistic traits.

Are you a fellow autistic person and your most relatable ASD anime fav isn't here? PM me/comment on my profile; I'll appreciate if you add a small (4-5 lines at best) profile focusing on their neuroatypical traits. Try not to add spoilers, though!

If you've gotten tired or bored with the common trope of the main character trying to get stronger to save something or somebody. If you just want to take a breather and take a break without worrying about the main character for a while - although I can't guarantee it for all of them - this list is for you (one entry per series - no sequels, etc.). These are only a few of all out there and I ran out of space, so if I missed one, I'm so sorry!
