Anime for a common audience that includes representation of marginalized communities without being narrowly focused queer or quuerbaiting content. The purpose of the list is to try and neutrally compile a list of shows with a diverse cast that isn't subject to the heavy fascination with ships and other wishful thinking. Therefore, you will not see any "heavily hinted" and other typical speculation for such stocks here.

Warning, for some of the included shows, this topic, as well as its image, may be a spoiler. Also, English is not my native language, so if my vocabulary in describing a particular topic may sound problematic, feel free to let me know. I will correct the text as soon as possible.

Experimental list where I try to collect anime series with themes/characters that people who work as translators and/or interpreters might find interesting.

Will update whenever I see something I think belongs here.

This includes Shojo, BL, Seinen, and Shounen. Although Shounen and Seinen are usually targeted at a male audience, there are some shows which I think more attract a female audience instead ^^
Also some new shojo that will be airing over the next 1-2 years. I'm so happy that there are new shoujos / female-targeted series coming out instead of just more Shounen romance 😭.

Romantic related animes that I as a romance fan have watched and love. A heart fluttering story that will gives you butterflies. Mostly shoujo and shounen, with a few of josei and seinen.
p.s. I put the very latest season of the series, not including ovas or specials. There are also some movies.

*They are tagged as romance genre or romantic subtext theme, the degree of romance content varies and some blooms in sequels which will require patience.
!After completing the anime it's recommended checking out the sequels, movies and/or source materials, if they have those, to confirm couples getting together and/or for further developments.

these are in alphabetical order, not by rating, as to show the watch order of longer series. the watch order was the most confusing part of compiling this list myself. i made this over a year ago back when i didn't know about interest stacks. i thought i'd share both this list and my thoughts now that i'm almost done watching all of these. i highly recommend using this as a binge list, it's banger after banger.

These anime have a female main character that doesn't talk, rarely talks, or is extremely quiet. Lots of kuudere types. WIP

if it is a series, i have only added the first season! you'll find a good bit of popular boy/timid girl tropes and confident/aggressive girl leads - some set in the historical age (duke/lower-ranking girl). these are ones i seriously enjoyed watching with good bits of comedy and romance!
