Senjou no Valkyria

The Main characters in both anime series do not want to get involved in war, but due to their actions manage to get themselves involved in the war.  

Both series are set in an alternate "world war" scenario, where the main character is forced to command a team of soldiers to fight, despite actually disliking war. The main characters in both are also slightly quirky, sticking out from their comrades and showing great strategy and leadership skills. Valkyria Chronicles has a similar setting to world war 2, with tanks, however Alderamin goes for a slightly 'steampunk' approach with canons, rifles, airships and sword fighting. The animation style between the two shows also feels slightly similar, and the character designs are often colourful. They both have a similar feel, and if you enjoyed one it's likely you'll enjoy the other. read more 

Both take a over look on military battle and strategy. Both have a magic aspect in. They also don't glorify war and show the pain of wars Nejimaki is not as long so story is not as complete but bother very good animes. 

Strategic Sloth Main Characters? ✓ tsundere style fighting female lead? ✓ Love Triangle? ✓ War setting - albeit different period ✓ Evil political agendas? ✓ Valkyria is a masterpiece and thankfull Alderamin has many similar traits that may potentially entice viewers to watch. 

Both shows are set on alternative realities (could be compared to 19th-20th century or so) with some magical, supernatural beings while they aren't the only/main focus of the show Even though the main male characters are a bit different when it comes to their nature they are both great tacticians and were both forced to fight and the setup of story is also somewhat similar. There is also at least one mentally and/or physically strong main female character in both series. The main focus of both shows is military even though it isn't following the reality that strictly. For example there are plenty of women in the military in both series and overall they aren't that "militarish" after all. While Valkyria Chronicles can be pretty easily be referred to WWII in Europe there isn't as clear focus on Tenkyou no Alderamin which could be somewhat compared to WWI/preWWI-era when it comes to weapons and tactics. War between two countrys in WW1 sitting.. and the charecters has the same feeling in both anime. 

The theme/setting is somewhat similar about the past, war, and whatnot. They both have romance, drama, and action. Art style kinda resembles each other, too, in a way. They, also, are very nice anime. :)

Valkyria Chronicles felt like a bit more mature version of Allison & Lillia. If you liked A&L you'll probably enjoy Valkyria. Both of them involve military elements with Valkyria going a bit more in depth. Both of these shows also have very good romantic developments. Both are definitely worth watching! 

Valkyria chronicles and pumpkin scissors are two show with different stories but with basically the same layout. They're both set in a psuedo-early 1900's war time era with strong female protagonists, a unique supporting male and a odd assortment of characters in a troop. Though they bot focus on two entirely different themes (and valkyria chronicles is a bit mor immature) you'd probably like one if you liked the other. 

In both series, there's a similar background with a time setting roughly close together around the 20th century. The female protagonist from both series are strong, independent, and always tries to keep her mind ahead of others. She is also involved with an organization dealing with both foreign and local events. With military experience, the main female protagonist is invaluable for its country's efforts. Both series also features action, drama, comedy, and some romance (less so in Pumpkin Scissors) between certain characters. 

Both shows feature features cast of soldiers, who are using their skills to do something different than killing in the troubled wartime that is the backdrop of both shows. Also both shows features the two sides of the human nature during these turbulent times, showing us the good and bad in mankind. 

Both were adapted off their video game counterpart. Because of this, both have a fairly grandiose adventurous plot that you would typically imagine in a rpg video game. Good character development, some side quests, and plenty of cliffhangers to be found. Overall, both accomplish 'that feeling' you get when playing the actual game.  

Both of them are about war in a fantasy world and have amazing characters with really deep personalities developed in the anime as well as giving you the same feelings. 

Both series are adapted from a video game. They both feature an adventure like plot involving the main male and female protagonist. The both of them doesn't get along at first but later warms up to one and another after discovering themselves. Both series features action, drama, comedy, and some emotional moments. 

Very similar in the nature of the story, action and romance. It's just the setting is a bit different, and Valkyria has a bit of the magic element in it that Toshokan Sensou doesn't. They're both pretty good!

The setting of both anime is based on WWII The story of both anime is a powerful large empire invading small neighboring nation/kingdom Both anime have a powerful figure that belived to be the saviour of the nation/kingdom, on izetta = The White Magician/Witch, on valkyria = The Valkyrie On both anime, it turned out that the main character is that powerful figure The difference is the main character's role... on izetta, the main character role is as the princess of the kingdom, on valkyria, the main character is as the soldiers fightning on frontline 

Both shows are based on the Second World War and mirror the tale of a single country's struggle to resist a powerful invader (i.e. France/Luxembourg vs. Germany). Both place significant emphasis on the military aspect of their stories, and both include a magical/supernatural element that greatly affects the tide of the war. Note that while Shuumatsu no Izetta is decidedly blatant in the parallels it draws, Senjou no Valkyria is much looser with its comparisons, with far less stress placed on historicity. Another major difference is in how Shuumatuso no Izetta follows the life of a princess, while Valkyria tells its story through the perspectives of a militia squad. read more 

While Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta takes place in the air and on airship looking things, Senjou no Valkyria: Gallian Chronicles takes place on the land, and with tanks and guns. Both have a romance built around the core plot of action, duty, and major character build up. 

The theme of military and the supernatural are present in both of these two series. Additionally, there is a secret power that can change the world. Action and comedy are present and as the episodes drags on, a deeper story is revealed.  

Both series involves the military theme and packs action as the episodes drags on. Valkyria Chronicles does have inklings of romance while but Sora no Woto is still something worth to watch.  

Both have Military, weird main male (military vs. biology), nice supporting characters, fighting, romance. Female lead is a nice and strong do-it with special abilities. (No weak cry babe.) Romance is similar. <3 Somehow between the lines in the beginning and later on more important for the story. (Although SNV has more a "real happly ever after ending".) Somehow same atmosphere with funny situations vs. hard battles and the hardship the main male has to go through realising his feelings for the female lead.
