Saijaku Tamer wa Gomi Hiroi no Tabi wo Hajimemashita.

Born into a loving family, Femicia appears to have a bright future ahead of her. When she finally turns five, the time comes to go to the church to have her skills appraised. However, while she does receive a monster tamer skill, it turns out that Femicia has zero stars for that ability. To make matters worse, society considers those who have zero stars to be harbingers of misfortune; as a result, Femicia is shunned by everyone—including her family.

Soon enough, Femicia is chased out of her village and is constantly on the run. Fearing for her life, she decides to masquerade as a boy and change her name to Ivy. With a goal given to her by a fortune teller to reach the royal capital, Ivy meets and successfully tames a slime, starting an unlikely friendship that may provide a means to get the destiny she deserves.

I enjoyed watching this a lot more than I expected

The first episode does start off very slow and to be honest I almost dropped it after that one. However, after watching episode 2, the anime felt a lot more interesting to me and I'm glad I continued watching it

The store revolves around Felicia, a starless girl that is being chased by her home town for not having a star. Her hometown saw this as some sort of threat and started hunting her down. She denounced her entire past and started fresh as Ivy. Now she's on a run to escape and survive.

One thing ... I liked about this anime is it didn't go with the basic troupe of making the MC really over powered or at least super strong. Instead they went with her own survival of hunting, taming 2 companions and making her way town to town, resolving conflicts and earning money in order to help her survive which I quite enjoyed.

My main gripe is Sora not being able to communicate. Sometimes it does feel a bit jarring having only Ivy speak. Would have made things a bit more entertaining if there was at least 1 more voice communicating but aside from that I really enjoyed watching this show.
Not sure if it's a show I would re watch but if a season 2 does release I will watch it.

Mixed Feelings

The Weakest Tamer follows Femicia, a daughter in a village awaiting her awakening skill along with her reincarnated split-personality. After her fifth birthday and awakening she receives a starless tamer skill and is ridiculed by the villagers and even her own family members; She decides to escape the village and explore the lands with her skill hiding under the guise of a boy named Ivy. It is on this journey where Ivy learns the true values of family and kinship.

Story & Characters: 5/10
The story is very simple: There is no story or goal. In The Weakest Tamer, the story is more like an impromptu and ... organic flow of events that we encounter as Ivy explores the world. There isn't any direct goal or milestones beyond Ivy's efforts to explore the world while scavenging for useful materials and equipment. This means the story does lack in substance and overall impact on the characters but that means it doesn't follow suit with other reincarnation/fantasy series.

The characters are vast but they all lack depth; They are surface level because instead of dwelling on a niche set of characters the series intends on having characters that are organically developed through natural encounters with Ivy and Sora. This makes their personalities and roles more authentic in a storytelling aspect. I enjoyed the character establishment and development but what I didn't really enjoy was the split personality Femicia had with her reincarnated persona. It felt really awkward and broke up the immersion with such outlandish dialogue of her speaking to herself vocally. I'd rather have one persona or the other if I had the choice; If not, perhaps a persona that can voice itself as a companion instead of an invisible 'in my head demon' like what we see with Femicia/Ivy. It's wacky but not in a good way.

Art & Sound: 6/10
The art was very detailed and colorful; Animation in the environment scenes were fluid by modern standards and it was visually appealing to watch throughout the series. The character designs felt a bit low budget especially when it came to characters from the Guild in the latter half of the series where their movements and designs just felt very low budget. Otherwise I was pleasantly surprised with how well the animation of Sora and the other slimes were handled.

The sound design was fairly decent by modern standards. Nothing stood out as extraordinary to me in terms of voice acting, sound effects or music choice.

Overall & Enjoyment: 5/10
Overall, I think it was a decent watch. There wasn't anything deep or super symbolic in this series since it was more of a casual and slow-moving narrative. The characters all felt really authentic and the premise was handled well; I just wished that Ivy/Femicia's character didn't have split personalities.

I almost dropped it after the first episode and maybe I should have!!! I really despise these characters that feel sorry for themselves. Yes life is hard, yes life's not fair sometimes, but deal with it and move along!!! The "nobody loves me and I'm useless" line gets old real fast! Main character is NOT likeable at all, I did love SORA which basically disappears halfway in. The story overall is all over the place, like the creator had tons of ideas but didn't develop any in particular. It feels disjointed and poorly written. Also what is with the bags???...she has a magic one that can carry everything ... "item box" like.....so what is the purpose of the rest?!?!! I read some of the reviews describing good animation, but I felt the characters' movements other than the main one are stiff and amateurish. I'm not really sure what the purpose of this anime was by the time it ended. It wasn't really an  adventure and it wasn't really something with any purpose. Hope you find it more interesting than I did.
