Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki Part 2

Really interesting anime, from a realistic viewpoint into economy and how modern concepts would fit in a dark age set world full of magic and finding ways to make them fit together well was cute. Felt like I was getting a fun lecture on the basics of economy, trade and how foreign affairs in a pre-industrial world would look like.

Finishing season 1 felt satisfying, left me wondering more about what would happen and where our MC was taking the kingdom, after starting off almost being sold to another kingdom by a bankrupt king and ending up fixing the starvation and money issues he gets crowned ... king and gains a hesitant fiancée on his arm the story slowly progresses of him dealing with finances and trade in their own territory, growing tention and rebellion from the land's 3 general armies, a war is broken out and he fights them all through what I would say was an interesting and effective way of dealing with the conflict that sparked my interest even more.

The relationship between the king and his future queen was interesting, felt more realistic than just him gaining a harem and the girls falling madly in-love with them, her feelings of not really wanting to share her beloved, but having to accept it through tradition and duty.

Season 2 fell a bit off for me, again interesting season, from dealing with slavery (which took up 1 episode, but had a slight build up to it) to how disease is dealt with in a magical world, the season just quickly built up his harem, which we all saw coming and was a bit predictable, all characters so far though has been likable and interesting, which I would say is a plus for the show, other than the big wind generator (blowing-fan) at the start, the season was alright, not as interesting as season 1.

Conclusion, it's a good show, not something mind-blowing, but unique and interesting, would recommend as a comfy show to enjoy.

Just finished it and I have to say, it's a downgrade comparade to the first season, mostly because it loses the surprise effect, the "oh this is definitely a different Isekai" feeling of the first season.
So here we have a definitely worst season, my reasons :
- Roroa was really underwhelming, I expected her to be an antagonist or at least to give the MC some trouble but she's just another waifu.
- There are two episodes in the middle who's flat out boring (the slave merchant one and the next) I saw myself skipping through them, I didn't even though about it in the ... first season.
- It doesn't go deep in the politics, Wich is a shame.
- For me the queens magic was kinda obvious, so it was not a big reveal, neither the direction or the soundtrack gave it the impact that it should have.
Other than that this season is pretty much the same as the previous for me. At least we had a kiss for Kasuya and Liscia right ? Some development at least.
It is a good show, nothing incredible but will entertain you, it can be boring at times and the soundtrack is pretty forgettable but the story and characters can carry it. For me it's a solid 6,5 it could definitely be better and if it wasn't for the 2 very skipable eps I would give it a 7 like the first season. That's it, thanks for reading

I enjoyed the first season, I also have no hate against Isekai anime, I enjoy them a lot. I thought that it had laid out a very interesting foundation. So wow, was I really disappointed with this second season/half of the show.

I feel like so much went wrong here and by that last episode I was like like "bruh" what? That last episode really lowered the rating of the show.

Story 3
The story felt very blah and some of the things Souma focused on or went over I just started zoning out on. So if the last episode wasn't the way it was, I ... probably would've have left this at a 5, but that last episode added what felt unnecessary and made so much of what was previously laid down questionable and in the air. Sure, one could say there was foreshadowing, and at the same time I felt those hints were so vague that really it was easy to be like here's the answer, "See the connection?" and then we'll all go, "Oh wow that was so smartly laid out," when really it felt kinda lazy.

Art 5
The art was fine, nothing absolutely breathtaking, nothing horrendous.

Sound 6
I liked the OP, it was nothing amazing though, and otherwise most of the OST was just pretty fine.

Character 3
The first season introduced all these characters that I wanted to see more of and in this season many of these characters get dropped or just reduced to like their base personality traits and feel more like hollow cutouts. I also had a hard time just going along with Souma just being like, "yup I know politics because I read a book, so I am great and do not fail at being a king." Yes, I saw him get affected by some of the job, but it still ended up working out, and it really didn't feel like the stuff he was affected by really held all that much weight. Also again even the harem characters felt completely reduced to stereotypical harem traits and they no longer felt like they had depth.

Conclusion
I really wanted to like this season, I thought the first season had really hooked me in, and I was interested to see what was next. Again if the last episode wasn't the way it was this anime would've ended up at like a 5 or 6 in rating, but really that episode did the whole show in for me. I will say there is a heartwarming satisfying interaction at the end, that felt more earned than a lot of the anime. Honestly, I could have gone without watching this.
