Koroshitsuji and Jigoku shoujo are that same in A Few ways. The storys are some what the same becuz There is a demon serving someone, And in jigoku shoujo, she grants a wish. You get the same feeling from Both the animes as well.

The creepy feeling of both is similar.  Both are psychological, twisted, written to make you think, and focus on vengeance (from what I've seen of the first 2 eps of Kuroshitsuji).

Both series feature main characters who have more or less been put in the same situation...
On the verge of death, both have been granted eternal life and have become supernatural beings.
In the case of Kuroshitsuji, the main character was granted 'demon status' in a revenge based deal, whils in Jigoku Shoujo, the main character is a vengeful person who exacts other peoples revenge.

Both Black Butler (Kuroshitsuji) and Hell Girl (Jigoku Shouju) are great anime that base their story of going to hell bound beings to take out their revenge. 

While Black Butler keeps it's story based on one character at a time (the first season being Ciel Phantomhive and the second being Earl Alois Trancy) and Hell Girl changes characters each episode, other than the main hell bound beings, of course. 

Both series are twisted and keeps you trapped in their worlds. I greatly recommend both.

Would you make a deal with the devil? Would you give up your soul for the one thing you want more than anything? Both Kuroshitsuji and Jigoku Shoujo answer this question, and the answer is yes. Both series depict dark themes, especially revenge. Ai is similar to Ciel (besides their physical size, of course) since they both had too much death and despair forced upon them when they were too young and bear great responsibility.

both have quirky similar random humour (which is at excellent quality) and has simiar strange atmosphere to it, where it (in soul eater) is in a different gothic world whilst kuroshitsuji is normal life with many dark supernatural aspects (which also seem quite gothic). lots of action, some drama, lots of humour and great general anime :D

While hardly related these two seem to appeal to people who like a good mix of action, drama and comedy. Kuroshitsuji is based in England in the 19th century while Soul Eater is in another world all together, but both have fantasy elements that verge on the dark side (for Kuroshitsuji it's demons and for Soul Eater it's witches and black blood). Last but not least they both have great casts of likeable characters and both series feature beautiful animation in their own respective styles.

They both have the grim reaper feel to them. 
There is humor in both, the interesting quirky kind of humor.
The characters are similar each having a partner, Sebastian is with Ciel, and each of the students are partners meister and weapon. 
They are each dark in their own way.
Both styles are very good and interesting in their own ways.
The enemies are unique to their own series.
The side characters provide humor and lighten up the mood from some of the seriousness of the actual story.
I totally recommend this. It's awesome!

though they are different, I was watching them at the same time (had already seen soul eater but was showing some friends) and there were some similarities.

dr. stein and undertaker both have insane personalities and similar character designs.

also, they have the concept of death scythes. in soul eater however, they are people. it's just interesting to think about the similarities and concepts you can come up with with these two.

they also both started airing in 2008.

Characters really do look a like! i think that Sebastian from kuroshitsuji is male version of Yuuko from xxxholic. also at first sight i thought that kuroshitsuji was product of Clamp, but i guess i was simply mistaken.

Both have a creepy-gothic feel to them and they both have many smaller stories that eventually lead to another
and both of them have master-butler relationships in them ( though the one in xxxHolic isn't nearly as much as in Kuroshitsuji )

When I watched xxxHolic again one years ago,i realized that there are some contens of xxHolic that reminisced about Kuroshitsuji . And these are are descriptions that those animes shared.

1) Protagonists of both anime have supernatural powers that effect everything around themselves.
2) Mysteries and Supernatural theme are concept and center of both anime.
3) Our protagonists of two animes contact and communicate with each anime 's supernatural creatures (demon butler and witch)

Orphan boy solves supernatural mysteries with the help of odd allies. xxxHOLIC is centered around japanese folklore in a 2000s setting and has a more optimistic feeling, while Kuroshitsuji is set in victorian England inspired by Sherlock Holmes and has a darker tone.

Vanitas no Karte addpermalink

Both shows feature a supernatural + human main character duo solving mysteries in late 1800s Europe. Kuroshitsuji takes place in England whereas Vanitas no Karte is in Paris, and Kuroshitsuji focuses on demons whereas Vanitas no Karte focuses on vampires. However, they have a similar narrative style and humor, while still being able to get serious when the time is right. If you enjoyed one, I highly recommend watching the other.

Both anime's are set in a world full of richdom and welth. I think the art is also kind of similar, but I don't know if other people agree. Kuroshitsuji also has those random funny moments like Ouran High School Host Club. Here's a funny fact: Both main-characters (in Ouran High School Host Club it's Haruhi, and in Kuroshitsuji Ciel) are voiced by the same seiyuu! Ouran High School Host Club & Kuroshitsuji both have shounen-ai hinted themes.

Yami no Matsuei addpermalink

Both of these animes have the same supernatural dark themed atmosphere, and it has the same theme of having a strong bond between it's two male protagonists (yami no matsuei's shounen ai is much more exposed though). Both animes pertains to solving some mysterious cases too. I am 100% sure that you'll like Kuroshitsuji if you're a big fan of yami no matsuei.

Both of these animes are a combination of comedy, mystery and a shounen-ai (hinted, as in Kuroshitsuji's case) theme. They also share main-characters with a bond between a young boy and a male. Another thing worth mentioning is that Ciel and Hisoka's  appearance, voice and personality are much alike.

Both shows play on the grimmer side of 'BL' style stories. They also delight in mysteries, wicked twists, and eccentric characters. Shinigami (Reapers) and Demons play a role in both stories, although at opposite sides. Shinigami are not all benevolent, and the Demon in Kuroshitsuji seems more noble then most other characters. 

Kuroshitsuji has a more prevalent gothic atmosphere then Yami no Matsuei, but very similar priorities on character designs. Both shows put an effort into making the characters look good, but sometimes the animation gets a little off or doesn't look as ideal as desired. Some episodes also get pretty bad on fanservice compared to Yami no Matsuei and can easily be omitted (In my case this was 7 - 9). But otherwise the show is very solid, and delivers a very befitting finale. 

Some characters in Yami no Matsuei, like Hisoka or Muraki, have similarities to ones from Kuroshitsuji. Hisoka's tragic past seems oddly similar to Ciel, the main character of Kuroshitsuji, as does his cold behavior at the beginning of the series. The seductive villain Muraki is somewhat similar to Sebastien, Ciel's butler, but of course it's not nearly so simple as that. There are many nuances to these characters then would be first let on, much like in Yami no Matsuei. 

The story in Kuroshitsuji does not get darker in theme until episode 4, so if the mood whiplash between comedy and drama bothers you it does go away. Unfortunately the lighter moments don't seem to blend in as well as they did in Yami no Matsuei, but they can be managed. All else fails, pay more attention to character behavior then the poorly done 'jokes.' Kuroshitsuji can be silly, and over the top but it is a fun ride once it finally settles down.  read more

Both clearly appeal to fujoshi and female viewers.

Kuroshitsuji concerns certain uncommon interactions between butler and master. Vampire Knight does not concern demons/angels/shinigami. If you really enjoyed either this one or Vampire Knight then you will love this next series (if you're into vampires). Vampire Knight is more focused on dark romance involved with vampires and humans with a love triangle in the mix and a dark secret that will unravel itself later in the story.

If you like dark, gothic storylines where the characters forever seem destined to meet a very unpleasant fate, than Vampire Knight and Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler) are both probably a good bet. Although there is not a great similarity between the storylines, the tone is unmistakably similar: dark, mysterious plots where characters strive to overcome conspiracies in which their tragic pasts are the key. 

The level of character development is about equal in both of these as well; the protagonists drive the plot forward (although they have very different motivations), and the secondary characters are mysterious non-humans who are more knowledgeable than they let on. Also, side characters add a bit of light-hearted humor in a way that isn't annoying and does not detract from the overall ominous intrigue of the main plot.

Also, for anyone who liked one for the extremely suggestive, yet understated sexuality in one, you will definitely get the same in the other. Warnings: if you don't like hints of yaoi (boy/boy) relationships, Kuroshitsuji might not be for you, although you can certainly watch the story without these elements affecting your enjoyment of the piece. Similarly, if you have a problem with suggestions of consensual incest (in a weird, roundabout manner of speaking), Vampire Knight and it's sequel may also not be for you.

Another great thing about these animes is that both can stand alone in their first seasons, but if you want more, then there is a wonderful second season which lets you explore each world even further. read more

The stories arent similar in the least bit but the dark style and the type of animation is. Kuroshitsuji, or Black Butler, is has that 'supernatural' aspect similar to Vampire Knight, referred to as VK from now on.

Black Butler(BB) is about a demon butler whos contracted with a 13 year old boy who has inherited his familys mansion and toy company. The contract was that the Butler, Sebastian, was to help the boy, Ciel, find and kill whoever killed his parents and after Sebastian held his part of the deal up he would get to devour Ciel's soul. 

The story line has no romance to it like VK but it BB and VK are both dark and the viewer is captured into it. I usually dont enjoy dark animes or any stories for that matter but i thoroughly enjoyed both VK and VD. 

BB isnt 100% dark there is a slight playfulness in Sebastian and Ciel's relationship and the other stuff of the mansion that are used as the comic relief. (much as Aido and the rest of the Night Class occasionally come across as for the VK series) read more

Roughly same time (Victorian Romance Emma takes place about 25 years before Kuroshitsuji), same attention to detail and I believe Kuroshitsuji references Victorian Romance Emma in a few things. Otherwise very different, but if you like the era, go for it!

Both are supernatural shows in which a demonic being which has assumed the form of a beautiful man is bound to serve a human boy.  In both cases, the demon is loyal to his master to a certain extent but relatively neutral in terms of good and evil.  Both shows also have a variety of silly characters in the background, including a clumsy maid.

The main character in both is a supernatural/ultrapowerful being who can pretty much do whatever it wants. It will be a hard time killing either Korosensei or Sebastian. Comedy also plays a huge part in both shows, although the humor in Black Butler is much darker. Both series also have huge casts.

At first it doesn't seem similiar at all.
But there is some things that connect these series and I probably only noticed because I watched them one after another (I watched Natsume immediately after Kuroshitsuji).

Both have a contract with a demon who promises to eat them after all is done (or in Natsume's case when there is an opening.)
In both cases the main lead is about the only one who knows about it.
Furthermore the male leads seem similiar in personality, appearing adult, serious and short-tempered.

In both series, there's a fantasy like feeling with a more sophisticated style of its artwork.

The main male protagonist is a young boy; although they have very different personalities. However, it focuses on his relationship with others as well as the people he meets along the well.

Both series also gives off a gothic like feeling with its artwork and also a small sense of mystery.

I am a kuroshitsuji  fan and i also love to watch seraph of the end or owari no seraph.
I highly recommend everybody to watch seraph of the end because it is an amazing anime and i think if you like this anime then you like the other one.
Reasons i say so:
Both animes have something to do with demons
Both animes are dark
Both main anime characters want to revenge their family death
Both anime characters are cute cool and hot
Both anime are amazing
Shounen
Fighting
Historical
Mysterious
Tragic 
Sad

Both of the main characters are solving crime cases and makes many mentions to the real world issues. Music is very pleasing in both of the animes- not only openings and endings but the background music as well. If you are a person of culture, books, plot twists ; then this is the anime for you! In Kuroshitsuji season 1, plot does not fully explain main character's background, so does Bungou stray dogs. The structure is quite similar,but both of them are very unique in their own ways!

Both are somewhat similar in that they both deal with demons and contracts. Kuroshitsuji is much darker than Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai but they do both have their share of comedic moments.

Very similar vibe as both series are set in different eras of the British History (Late Medieval vs Victorian), with their plot points based on actual past events (Jack The Ripper, Warwick's Rebellion, etc). Both protagonists are petite young boys with an aristocratic background, having contact with a demonic being (Joan of Arc, Sebastian), extremely vengeful, and are slowly consumed by darkness as the story progresses.

Well, I personally liked both of these, as they deal with similar themes (Darkness, Evil ECT.) However, This anime is a little more girly, with a hint of romance, but there are also fight scenes, and the 2 main characters are males. On the otherhand, I guess that Kuroshitsuji AND D.N.Angel can appeal to both audiences. This anime is worth watching!

Both have a focus on the concept of demons including a character who works with them in order to resolve a certain personal problem that they have and both having a pretty sick style of comedy as well too.  And both also focus around resolving cases as well too for their respective employers that also deals in other supernatural threats as well too.

They have well develped characters, comedy and still manage to tell a deep story.

Shirogane resembles and almost acts exactly like the Undertaker. The style is also got that 'pretty boy' element and the magical graphic elements included in Kuro. It's just got a large combination of Square Enix's pretty boy stuff with the Loveless elements and some Sex Therapist manga moments thrown in.

We have both stories set on Victorian Europe with the most uncharacteristic cast resolving mysteries. I find that both sidekicks share similar characteristics like being demons and being quirky who make fun of their masters in subtle ways.

The setting and scenery of the anime is almost the same.
Lau and Ran Mao were probably inspired from the characters Ran fan and Yao Ling from FMA.
Circles of Alchemy and Sebastian's symbol seal were probably very much interconnected.
The feeling of both anime are pretty much similar.
Experimental and such.
In Kuroshitsuji, there were indians but in FMA, there were ishbalans.
Yao Ling is the 12th prince from his country but Soma is the 27th prince from his country.
Agni and Scar are similar, they have queer powers in their right hand/arm and they worship their god very much.
Ciel Phantomhive and Edward Elric are dogs of the military, dog of the queen etc.
There are only two main characters in the anime.

Firstly, both were produced by Square Enix.
Both have eye-patches, Shinigami, contracts, death, and a dark mood.
But the most notable similarities are those between the characters: in both series we have the usually clumsy meganekko (Michiru/Meilin), the gay man who provides some comedy (Hakka/Grell), the always calm and kinda tedious Chinese guy whose eyes are constantly shut (Toho/Lau), the emotionless pretty girl (Kuze/Ranmao), the weird and non-human ferryman/grave-digger (Bekko/Undertaker), the cute and cheerful shota boy (Yuta/Finnian), and even the domesticated wolf (Raika/Pluto).
That said, Zombie Loan is way better.
