Both shows involve a grown man developing a father-daughter relationship with a girl after the man moves out to do some soul searching to live with the girl. Both shows are slice of life in a laid-back setting where building relationships and self-reflection are the main focal points.

A similar theme of a young man returning to his hometown and taking care of an unrelated child.

First of all, we focus on the topic. Both has same "babysitting/caretaker" theme. Main protagonists are adult men. The difference is Deaimon guy, Nagomu is carefree while Yakuza's guide to babysitting guy, Tooru is reckless. Both guys takes care of little girl who are not their own biological child. Both series consist of 12 episodes. Same genre, slice of life. Episodic series where mostly, one episode is not related to another episode . Both are heartwarming series although YGTB (I call it that from now) has a bit portion of drama and violence. This is probably due to the title says "Yakuza" in it. Both little girls have similar name,  read more

Both anime are tooth-rottingly sweet about father-daughter style relationships while also having a cooking or gourmet component.

Working at a family business out of the city, rural culture. Has romance that isn't the focus but exists and incomplete. Like Deaimon, has a relaxing vibe to the whole show, has a lot of happiness filling every episode.

If you've watched Frieren: While not at all a series with any action, Deaimon is a show that reminds me of the same feeling I got watching Frieren. Overall, like Frieren, the story is very heartwarming, the story follows a young man who goes back to his hometown to help out his family at their shop. There, he meets a young girl that his family has taken in. The series follows the various stories that happen in their town similar to that of Frieren's smaller adventures with Fern and Stark. Its main plot is executed similarly to Frieren in that much of the joy comes in  read more

Both involve a main character moving to a new location (Nagomu back to his hometown, Koharu moving into to start a new life) Both delve into the themes of family a fair bit.

Both involve Japanese sweets shops and a focus on slice of life.

Both are older guys looking after younger girls in a environment with a mixed cast of characters, even though Deaimon is non-romantic for the most part, it does have a similar vibe and art style, most likely because the anime were made at similar times. I personally prefer Deaimon because it has as I like to call it more 'Heart', however Aharen-san wa Hakarenai also is heartfelt in it's own way

One point of Deaimon shows us the art of making sweets and how brings "hapiness" to both sweet artist and consumer And the same happens in this series but in a fantasy world with humans and fairies.

For some reason watching anime deaimon... it reminds me of anime blend s. Basically, this anime is fun and the plot is light, so it's perfect for those who don't really like heavy plots. And also the genre is not boring or the storyline, really enjoy it anyway :)))

Themes that stood out to me in "My Roommate is a Cat" were regret over the relationships with family members lost, and how to make new relationships to overcome that regret. "Deaimon" has a similar theme, in that a character is often brooding over the loss of a relationship and is being nearly prodded and dragged into new relationships, not to forget the old relationship, but to help heal the wounds. "My Roommate is a Cat" happened to use a pet as the new relationship and portal to more new relationships, while "Deiamon" has a fully human cast.

both have MC who is trying to back on track of his professional activity both have serious little girl with dramatic background near MC both are SoL with 'little cozy world'- vibe

Another great and underrated slice of life. Focuses on a group of girls rather than a girl and her "dad", but both shows share the same wholesome and comfy vibes. Plus the OPs are done by the same singer so if that doesn't let you know they are in the same category I don't know what will.
