Both recent phenomenon series with a lot of similarities. The curses and the devils have a lot of parallels and we follow a group of characters who hunt/kill these entities.

Both animes were created by the same studio (MAPPA) and have many things in common, such as specific humor full of grotesque, dark and gritty elements, and of course a lot of gore.
report Recommended by Adnash
Both protagonist seems to have barely "nothing to lose" and both accepts an offer that can't be refused if they want to live, an offer presented by a strong but kind-manipulative female figure. The setting though is really different since chainsaw man is in a modern world and Jigokuraku in a Edo samurai old scenario.
report Recommended by AlCreed
both have reluctant mcs a younger male older female dynamic and lots of chaotic action happening too

CSM is heavily inspired by Devilman. Crybaby is the most recent and present Devilman entry. If you enjoyed Crybaby or any of the larger Devilman franchise, definitely give the CSM anime a go! Both involve a MC that combines with a devil in order to battle other devils. Both have similar imagery and tones.

Chainsaw Man is a much superior version of Demon Slayer with a little bit worse animation. The story and characters are way more interesting. The main cast in both series are monster slayers and the gore is plentiful in both.

There are a few similarities between them and give off the same vibe while watching. They both are: - supernatural -brutal and tragic -not afraid to kill off characters -slow paced -mature in content -a lustful teenage boy as main
report Recommended by Gwendolly
Both are wild and trippy stories with a spunky female lead and a charming soundtrack and also FLCL was an inspiration to CSM as well too.
report Recommended by Disapeared_Ghost
At the beginning of both series; the main character fuses with a super natural creature in order to eventually go on to use the power of the creature to fight others of it's kind. Both have similar tones and OSTs.
report Recommended by JVskunkape
Both main characters have demonic powers and both of them started out as outcasts. People don't trust them because of said powers.
report Recommended by akova
These are both phenomenon modern epics. They both have dark & gritty themes/premises. Iconic characters, gory action & incredible OSTs.
report Recommended by JVskunkape
Both have action, crime, and are protecting the public from something. Both series take place in different timeframes.

Akame ga Kill and Chainsaw Man both follow a young man trying to make the most of their life when their world does a 180 showing the absolute brutality that comes with their new life. Akame ga Kill has Tatsumi join Night Raid in various assassinations against the corrupt government where as Chainsaw Man has Denji pulls the cord hanging from his chest, he turns into Chainsaw Man. In this form, a chainsaw comes out of Denji's head and hands, and he gains immense powers to fight and kill devils.

Both are about a dude with a live-changing experience when he receives a special power. It so happens to be that these main characters both get there motivation from wanting to touch some boobs. Do you want to know if their desires come true? Then check out these stories.

- Both main characters are dull simpletons. - Humor. - Adult themes (not school). - Monster/devil hunting. - Monsters/devils lurk among the city which lead to some destructions. Don't expect it to be very similar. But I find many common points.
report Recommended by susano-amaterasu
Both have a focus on the concept of demons including a character who works with them in order to resolve a certain personal problem that they have and both having a pretty sick style of comedy as well too. And both also focus around resolving cases as well too for their respective employers that also deals in other supernatural threats as well too.
report Recommended by Disapeared_Ghost
Main character is stupid and endearing. A lot of blood and guts. Human society has adapted to a world in which monsters wreak havoc upon the world. Humans use the power of the monsters to fight back. Main character is part of the main organization that fights back against the monsters.
report Recommended by Caskatier
The protagonists in both shows are males who become half-human half-monster creatures due to unfortunate turn of events, but at some point they meet a strong female character deciding to guide them to live a new life with their superpowers. Both shows are filled with gore scenes and action. They also consist of characters having good and memorable designs.

Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen and Hell's Paradise are renowned for their grisly and gruesome themes, tackling serious issues with a gory approach. As a result, the three have been coined the "dark trio" of anime by the animanga community.
report Recommended by zmjan15
Vastly different genres, but aimed towards the same demographic. Both include a horny, naive MC who has one mission to experience as many lewd things as possible and will inevitably go on his adventure to become super OP and reliable. Both series are set in a fantasy world, and have your dream/fantasy waifus...
report Recommended by Kaguyachinchin
nothing cooler than when the good guys have to utilize dark powers and that is reflected through both shows aesthetic.
report Recommended by Coopsterrr
Both final act is heavenly similar, especially when Kizumonogatari was heavenly influenced to Chainsaw Man's part 1's climax.

If you're looking for the level of craziness and gore like csm, ninja kamui is perfect for that

Amazing animation, great fight scene, great plot

World building and story structure are very similar in a good way.

Under Ninja and Chainsaw Man both have similar themes of wanting something simple in life while living in an extreme setting. (Denji wanting to get laid, Kuro wanting to not work) Both shows use "dirty humor", If you enjoyed the humor in CS Man, you will likely enjoy the humor in Under Ninja as well.
report Recommended by Nano_ZE
Different plot and setting, however it has the same elements of violence, gore and monster fights, especially a horny MC and a dominant waifu heroine. Very underrated.

It doesn't have much in common. But in my view they are the two most important anime of the year. Bleach shows the strength on another level that only the classics have in this years of seasional experiences. And it shows not only that there is a way to pass the manga to anime with excellence, but how an adaptation can significantly improve the story with punctual increments. Chainsaw shows two great things, the positive thing is that it takes a big step in the revolution that will happen in anime in the coming years in terms of production and direction in general. They are close in concept where someone gets introduced to a society that hides their true goal and gets instructed to carry out jobs if they don't want to become useless/be considered traitors, sometimes said jobs aren't even adequate for the level of skill our characters have. As well as having this feeling of dread as we know many characters may die in any second and expecting our main character to exceed their limits once more. Demons in CSM act similar to the Yoma from Claymore in the sense that both differ from your redemptive villains as they just outright look at humans as inferior beings  read more

idk if you like chainsaw man anime, but i still recommend this anime to you. if you watched that anime, maybe you will love it maybe not .it depends , it is worth a try.
report Recommended by Jay-Zey
Both MCs are willingly pledging their life to demon in order to achieve a goal. While Owari no Seraph characters are aiming for a pure, good-guyish intention, Chainsaw Man's are expecting simple, self-centered goals they're almost relatable. Both are filled with eye-pleasing visuals, though in quite different way.
report Recommended by deesintegrashun
Both shows are gory and have sexual moments. Recommended conditionally, as Pupa was very rushed in production.
report Recommended by Pages_Pages
To be honest, when I watched Chainsaw Man, Kemono Jihen came to mind. The personalities are vastly different, especially with the MC's. However, there was enough of a resemblance for me to make this.

If you like deep thought provoking stories that can switch from being light hearted to serious seamlessly.
report Recommended by smithdog223
Both R18/R16 rated, a main character seeking for women.
report Recommended by its_coomies_time
Denji is extremely similar to Kazuya, both are horny teenagers who really want to get lewd with girls and would obey any order given by one of them as long as they see a way to get lewdness in exchange.
report Recommended by Ionliosite2
It's for those who want anime with similar setting, atmosphere, osts. but can guarantee that the plots are totally different and it doesn't have any awestriking fight scenes or demons in it.
report Recommended by Walnut_2A
Many of the dynamics in chainsaw man (especially Makima and Denji) were directly inspired by the monogatari series. The main characters both have a similar air to me, of (what I'd consider) empathetic, but immature and sexually frustrated teenagers. Although the presentation and writing is really quite different, both works hit to a similar core in my personal opinion.

Both focus around fighting demons under government control and a young mc getting caught up in the events of a manipulative government rep too.

Main characters are teenagers who are basically the slaves of a femdom and works killing monsters/demons who come from another dimension (mato and hell respectively), and they will recibe a sexual recompensation for its work (in mato is some echii reward as excuse for fanservice and chainsaw is the promise of having sex). To do it, they transform into a monster while fighting and turns back to human the rest of time. Mato seihei has lots of fanservice and its mains character is timid and polite, but a pervert in the end while chainsawman almost doesn't have fanservice, but its protagonist is obsessed with sex and  read more

A kind-hearted human merges with a devil. From the point of view of other demons, he is fighting against his own kind. But he is neither fully human nor fully devil.

Apart from the obvious surface-level similarities (both shows depict a young man joining a special paramilitary group tasked with ensuring the security of their respective populations on behalf of the government; using unique magical abilities during combat against enemies with their own unique and terrifying abilities) they have similar themes of coming of age, letting go of the past and choosing a path forward for the future. Both protagonists harbor trauma about their past, coming from rough upbringings with no parental figures and struggling to get by. When they're given the chance for a better life, they take it, but not without holding on to their  read more

Main characters are very similar, aside from that it's a bit similar on where their life is at, however nothing else. I would say this anime is basically tokyo ghoul+parasyte+gto in one, so far.

Chainsaw action with high amount of violent content.
report Recommended by abystoma2
Both Inuyashiki and Chainsaw Man center around an underdog protagonist in a harsh world with extraordinary powers. Both series are fairly crass and contain a lot of gory battles, but they also both have more to say about life, society, and heroism than the average bloodbath battle manga.
report Recommended by Netbug
A neglected teenager with bizarre powers joins a shadowy organization to reach his ambitions, joining a group of others with similarly troubled backgrounds who have to fight against others who use similar powers for evil. No one can be trusted and plot armor is little to nonexistent most of the time.
report Recommended by iBlewupthemoon
Both shows are filled with gore and dark themes. While their main characters differ from each other, they have at least one thing in common - they are fighting with monsters threatening regular humans. Also, these two animes' art and animation strongly rely on CGI.
report Recommended by Adnash
Both series focus on teenagers who work as part of governmental organizations to protect the public safety of Japan, include many action scenes, and have a protagonist with a somewhat eccentric personality that hides a deep emotional core. Lycoris Recoil is in the girls with guns genre; Chainsaw Man in horror action.

Both character a blood sword with technique her same, between Mirai and Power.Firstly,Mirai took the technique off the ring from her index finger then Power almost the same as Mirai too took out from under his palms many kinds of weapons.

Both feature a main character who uses the power of a devil/demon in order to transform his body and fight against other devils/demons.
report Recommended by JVskunkape
Both have a teenaged boy with orange hair and a spicy atitiude as well too and also partnerships as well too that have special powers to defeat enemies based around negative emotions and are set in a modern supernatural Japanese settings as well too.

Chainsaw Man and Kekkai Sensen takes place in a society where demons and other creatures are preying on humans, but have yet to take over the world. The main character unexpectedly receive powers and soon gets recruited by an organization composed of eccentric and powerful beings to fight against these demons to protect humanity. Kekkai Sensen is a lot more zany than Chainsaw Man, which some people love. Chainsaw Man has a lot of graphic violence for a shounen anime, which easily catches the attention of people. Fans will undoubtedly compare them, but they have very different moods for a different experience.

Chainsaw Man and Hellsing: Ultimate were released with much anticipation and met with widespread acclaim by fans. Both series deliver on graphic violence, body horror, and gore. If you love these elements then this is the recommendation for you.

same non sense style, with a good animation, a good story and cool fights. give it a try.

Both series have similar themes: they focus on youth, growing up and how hard it can be. Both are urban fantasy series. The main character of both of them is a horny male teenager looking for a goal in life and having a more or less questionable relationship with an older woman.
