These donghua have well-written stories, intriguing worldbuilding, well-developed characters, smooth 2D animation, and beautiful art.
Donghua with 3D/CG character animation do not apply. Donghua very light on plot, like episodic comedies or primarily visual spectacles, do not apply.

Here you can find some of the Donghua (Chinese animation) that are here on MyAnimeList. A Tag or Genre has not yet been created to differentiate Donghuas from Animes, but this list is created mainly for that reason to help the community. . .

There is a way to differentiate Donghua from anime
1) the names
2) the animation is more peculiar and is generally CGI
3) the language, the most obvious hehehehe

I've watched countless Donghua and this list stands out from the rest because of the shows on the lists good animation quality, unique plots and character development compared to a lot of other Donghua with low budget, generic plots, short episodes and rushed animation.

Chinese anime, as the name suggests, refers to animations that have been created in China or are Chinese adaptations of Manhua (Chinese manga), and are often called Donghua.

Wuxia is all about Martial heroes/warriors in the Jianghu using martial arts and inner strength
There may be some fantasy elements, but those are fairly minimal compared to Xianxia/Xuanhuan

Top 1. LV1 MAOU TO ONE ROOM YUUSHA after winning against the demon king, the hero party consisting of 4 people retires, while the others are successful, the MC is unemployed, but behind the comedy story there is a dark story, the MC is not even considered by the public and there is exploitation. done by the state, because of that, one member of the hero's party rebelled and became an enemy of the state. The demon king rises again but looks buffoonish and is better than humans and lives in the MC's house
Top 2. DARK GATHERING, after the supernatural incident that happened, ML locked himself up in his house, when ML decided to leave the house and live a normal life he taught ML's childhood friend's cousin, aka death kid, instead he was taken to horror places, targeted by demons only ML, The horror atmosphere in this anime is great
Top 3. DEKIRU NEKO WA KYOU MO YUUUTSU, about a cat who takes care of its owner, anime SOL which is relaxing but doesn't make it boring to see the characters' behavior

Sequel: it's hard to choose top 1 among these 4 anime because I think they're all good
Top 1. LINK CLICK S2, still one of the best donghua I've ever watched, to solve the case, Cheng Xiaoshi (mc with black hair) can enter the photo by getting into the person taking the photo while Lu Guang (mc with white hair) watches and directs xiao shi (it should be like that but because of the ending of s2 I'm doubting your strength)
The S2 case is related to the villain. There are lots of plot twists, the plot is unpredictable and it's really interesting to discuss, the cases are always sad and they're similar to real life, every episode's ending always has a cliffhanger, plus there are still several mysteries that haven't been revealed and maybe they will be discussed in S3 ( It's probably the season finale, but because this is an original anime, there are no spoilers for the sequel in any way)

Mainly historical with some fantasy with royalty or a historical feeling fantasy.

Donghua is the term used to refer to animation produced in China, encompassing all animated works but specifically referring to Chinese animation. Donghua adapts manhua comics and is often associated with 3D CG animation, although it can also use more standard anime-style animation - IMDb.

All entries are based on popularity, views (audience), rating, quality, and my opinion.

All donghua in this interest stack are considered above-average or top-tier, animation and/or story-wise.

Some 2D donghua here have not been watched by me but are generally well received.

This stack compiles anime rankings for 2023. To keep things simple, I only used YouTube commentators who provide a numerical rank. They are stacked in order from lower ranks (10 = better) to higher (1 = best). Entries with the same score are in alphabetical order.

The original concept was to compute some kind of composite score to create a "consensus" Top X list. But there are some problems with that. First, some lists include sequels and some do not. Second, some include shows that are continuing past calendar 2023 and some do not. Third, at least one of the lists includes a show that is not listed on MAL (Will I get banned if I say Scott Pilgrim here? I hope not.). Given there is no common baseline, I can't come up with any way to fairly combine the number scores. So I'm going to compute a simple average. This will have the tendency to drive scores to the middle: 5-6. It will also have the tendency of overemphasize shows that only have a single score. In the end, this is one of those seemingly helpful exercises that is, in reality, potentially misleading. In other words, don't put too much stock in the relative order and certainly do not get worked up if you have a different opinion.
