Citrus

Yagate Kimi ni Naru is a great Shoujo Ai and contains all the features of a forbidden lesbian relationship in a very conservative Japanese culture. Unlike the forbidden step-sister love of Citrus, Yagate Kimi ni Naru is confined to a first-year high schooler and her Senpai. I definitely recommend watching both. 

Both of these are yuri anime with similar relationship dynamics. Additionally, both shows plots' are essentially focused on the pure of heart and dumb of ass blonde character slowly having a sexual and romantic awakening towards the more experienced/streetwise (but surprisingly damaged) dark-haired character. However, Citrus is a fetish/fanservice anime at its core, while Yagate Kimi ni Naru is a lot more healthy and genuine about its relationships. If you were put off by these aspects of Citrus and want to see a more respectful and nuanced yuri show, then I fully recommend checking out Yagate Kimi ni Naru. Be warned that YKNN's ending is somewhat abrupt; the anime cuts off about halfway through the manga at a very awkward point. On the flip side, be warned that Citrus has some... questionable moments in favour of being a fetish anime, especially regarding consent (...you'll see what I mean by the end of episode 1). I much more recommend YKNN as a quality show that's genuinely trying to tell a sweet romance; Citrus can be interesting when it's not being problematic, but the problematic parts can be very off-putting.  read more 

If you liked Citrus, Yagate Kimi ni Naru is an anime for you, a Shoujo Ai in genre, Yagate Kimi ni Naru keeps you engaged throughout the series, whereas I found Citrus sort of faded in quality after the first 4 or 5 episodes. 

Both Shows Feature 2 Young High School Girls trying to find their romance. Both shows have the similar topics. 

The anime is pretty good and it wasnt rly like citrus but if you are an yuri fan i reccommend you seeing it yagate kimi ni naru got 2 girls that are in the same school 1 of them is a president and has a crush on the kouhai one so its basically backward citrus but there is not that much drama as in citrus all tho it was very fun to watch and expirience their love for each other over all a great yuri anime also the manga is pretty good as well you should think about reading yagate kimi ni naru(bloom into you manga) after you see the anime and see for your self if you enjoy it or not  read more 

Both yuri, both worth the watch :) I enjoyed both Yagate Kimi ni Naru and Citrus and I believe that they should both have more spotlight, especially Yagate Kimi ni Naru 

They are both GL and one of the MC holds their feelings back 

Both are Yuri anime with "Citrus" focused on the romance between step-sisters while "Bloom into You" is based on a high-school romance between a senpai and her kouhai. Both shows involve pairing-up of a kind and free-spirited girl with our MC who has shackled herself to her past....and both anime revolve around how the free-spirited girl helps our MC to break-free of her self-induced shackles. However, the resolution of this conflict is executed far better in "Bloom into You" than in "Citrus". While "Bloom into You" never loses it's edge in character development, "Citrus" begins to falter after six episodes with the introduction of unnecessary mini-arcs and multiple one-episode-long love-triangles.  read more 

I think Citrus and Yagate Kimi ni Naru are the best stories currently in the yuri genre; if you enjoyed the former I think you'll very likely enjoy the latter, and vice versa. While YagaKimi is not the melodrama Citrus is, it uses a more typical dramatic style and is even a bit dry at times, it is still very compelling and emotionally gripping. I think the writing in both stories is top tier and they are definitely worth watching. 

They both are about girls coming of age and realizing their sexuality. They can both be seen developing their relationships and having an open ending that needs the manga to finish the resolution. 

Girls Love 

Broken teenagers, on screen kisses, toxic relationships, love drama, etc. Kuzu no Honkai at least had some character depth and nice art/music going for it. 

It reminds me a lot on Kuzu althought it's soon to see where it's going -there are a lot of similitaries. The monologues they have in their mind. The two girls self discovering adventure and the feeling 

Go to horny jail. Okay, sorry, I couldn't resist. I think both of these shows ultimately struggle with how much they want to pander to fetishism vs how much they want to be a serious teen romance drama, and both kinda fall into the mindless lust zone at points. I will say that both make serious attempts to be a dramas, and that both do some very unique and intriguing character dynamics. Both are very captivating shows of questionable quality, but if this is your type of thing I think you'd enjoy both. Kuzu no Honkai does still have a yuri relationship, but is much less fixated on that relationship. read more 

Its emotional, it has a lot of kissing and side views. it really messes with your mind. 

A certain arc in Scum's Wish shares similarities with the plot of Citrus, in that it revolves around girl a who is (practically) sexually assaulted by girl b, which leads to the start of a lesbian relationship. While Scum's Wish is more lustful, Citrus attempts to combine light-hearted relationship with bits of lust.  

Although they are very different thematically, they are still animes that I liked a lot and that I certainly recommend to everyone, especially to those who like drama 💖😉💜😊 !!  

Do you like Citrus? Do you like Yuri, Romance Anime, and Ecchi? Then Kuzu no Honkai is the anime for you! Kuzu no Honkai, like Citrus, is about High School Romance. There are Yuri scenes, Ecchi scenes, and it is very much like Citrus. In Citrus, you might actually like the characters, but in Kuzu no Honkai you are probably going to think that most of the characters are scumbags, with the exception of Ecchan and the teacher who the main protagonist, Hanabi, refers to as Onee-chan(not weird at all right). It is only 12 episodes long and I think that this anime will keep you entertained for a while. Now go watch it. read more 

Both are bad at the same way, they have a bad story and a bad execution too. They try to mess with humans emotional but they fail. 

also a beautiful romance anime that also has some elements the same or rather similar 

If you liked Citrus, but maybe need a bit more of a slow build and deeper characterization, look to Strawberry Panic. The beautiful Etoile in this anime is beyond words, with a tear-jerking backstory, we learn there is a lot more to Shizuma than meets the eye. A bit like Mei in Citrus. Strawberry Panic is, like Citrus, based in an all-girls school, with a new transfer student, Nagisa, looking to make friends in the most wholesome way. Amongst finding new friends, Nagisa meets Shizuma, and the question of will they, won't they, begins from the very first episode. Not only does this anime feature wholesome episodes between friends, but also beautiful scenery and audio to accompany the serene setting of the school. I recommend watching Strawberry Panic if you enjoyed Citrus, or were even remotely interesting in the storyline. SP offers a wider story and a more in-depth look at the characters.  read more 

If you love Yuri anime like Citrus I recommend Strawberry Panic. The released date was April 3, 2006, the anime is about a group of teenage girls attending three affiliated all-girl schools on Astraea Hill. A common theme throughout the stories is the intimate lesbian relationships between the characters. The story is about a young girl named Nagisa Aoi entering her fourth year at St. Miator after being transferred from another school. On first entering the campus grounds, she is overcome with joy by the overall appearance of the surrounding area, but her joy is soon turned to sorrow as she accidentally stumbles down a hill, causing her to be lost and disoriented. While walking around the grounds trying to work out where she is, Nagisa comes across an older student named Shizuma Hanazono, who happens to be Astraea Hill's Etoile, a very important person who acts as a representative between the different schools and has specific duties that she must fulfill. Nagisa is instantly overcome by Shizuma's beauty, and after Shizuma kisses her on the forehead, Nagisa loses consciousness and awakens in the school's infirmary. In an adjacent chair is another girl of the same age, Tamao Suzumi, who informs her that they are to be roommates in the dormitory. read more 

Both shows are yuri/shoujo ai set at strict all girls schools. They're both full of drama and are pretty depressing at times. They feature the protaginists Nagisa and Yuzu trying to get with thier love intrests Shizuma and Mei. There are a lot of roadblocks as well as other people who have feelings for the main pairs, such as Tamao and Chiyo in Strawberry Panic and Matsuri and Momokino in Citrus. 

First is the obvious, they're both lesbian anime. Then there's the fact that these relationships aren't exactly the healthiest (In the citrus manga it's alright, but the anime is fuxked). There's also the casual use of sexual abuse with seemingly no consequences (unless it's useful for the plot) which made me very uncomfortable. Finally what you should really take into account is that they're both fairly dark and VERY melodramatic yuri anime which I know some people will enjoy and others won't. nonetheless they are similar for way more reasons than just being gay. 

Both are messy girl-girl romances and have a similar trashy soap opera feel to them (in a good way). If you like one, you'll probably like the other. 

Based on publicity, It is an anime that has to with girls coming out of the closet. An openly accepting their fate and feelings for one another. 

Both of these shows are yuri-centric anime with similar relationship dynamics. Also, both have a lot of fetishized/fan service moments between the main characters; if these aspects bother you about one show, they will certainly bother you in the other. Both relationships feature varying degrees of non-consentual moments and some unhealthy relationships between the main characters and also with the supporting cast; again, if this was a problem for you with one, it'll be a problem in the other. NTR is however a lot more self-aware about these aspects than Citrus, but falls victim to a much shorter runtime which leaves itself a lot less developed. Citrus also features a strong, interesting supporting cast of waifus (if that's what you're here for), whereas NTR features 4 characters (the two female mains and their boyfriends). read more 

Both are yuri based around sisters, and the struggles they face in their relationship due to problems between themselves or from the rest of the world. Candy Boy is 100% about the emotional story of the characters, and is a very cosy feeling slice of life about twins. Citrus on the other hand is more romantic and tense, a drama based around two girls who meet when they become step-sisters. Although Citrus involves a more sexual side as well, both anime are based in the emotional and romantic development of the two main characters. 

Both animes are ''yuri'' and have two sisters in a romantic story. Candy Boy is less dramatic and has a more soft romance than Citrus, so it can be a nice alternative for those who thought Citrus was too intense. Besides that, particularly I think the characters from the two animes are quite similar 

Sisters. Citrus and Candy Boy take the definition of a sister in an unorthodox manner and shift the meaning into something deeper to take in. Where Citrus has Mei, the (step)sister, ending up changing Yuzu for her life, due to some extremely unprecedented events. Candy Boy is a more optimistic sister relationship, one that is maybe a little too ideal. Whatever you believe, ideas such as Candy Boy and Citrus ended up deforming the word sister and remodelling it into something of an interesting piece of art. What we end up with is no normal girls' love tale, rather, a broken tale from Citrus's launching itself grappling onto the viewer with its sour content. In comparison to Candy Boy's sweet taste of optimism and idealism, made to render the viewer into a state of glee. Both are pretty good anime looking at them from reflex angles. With both having a score of <7.00, one could point out injustice. I simply tell those to not heed the score, but rather, make your own opinions when watching. read more 

Even tho both of the anime has a different take on the love aspect, but its setting of the drama is similar. Both anime tells a love story between a non-blood related teens that shares the same family and both has a love triangle drama. 

Citrus is literally just a lesbian version of Domestic na Kanojo. 

Friends who realize that they love theirselves. Lovely romantic relationship. Yuri is on fire there! 

The plot also revolves around a girl couple. From all of the yuri I have watched so far, this is the closest thing from Citrus, although the plot is quite different.  

Both are yuri anime, but the whole.. concept.. surrounding citrus *cough* incest *cough* is super gross so if you wanna watch a nice lgbt anime adachi to shimamura is for u :) !!
