So I personally believe Citrus is a disgusting anime that exists only to sexualize lesbians in a way that's really uncomfortable by making it about forcing kissing onto each other. It feels wrong, to me. However! I can appreciate that some will go into Citrus looking for a yuri couple to enjoy. Be it for comfort, or just because you want to see two cute girls love. Bloom Into You / Yagakimi is a more solid representation, focusing on an actual blooming romance between two characters, rather then lust. So if you want something more romancey, please check out the latter.

They both explore human feelings and relationships in a realistic way. They both revolve a lot around trust and the fears people have when trying to connect with others while desperately protecting thenselves from getting hurt. They both deal with destructive relationships, and thwy explore the reasons and paths that lies behind people's actions and personalities. They both feel very real and heartwarming, while not being afraid to show the darker aspects of life. If you like one - definitely watch the other! They're both really refreshing compared to a lot of the anime that's made today, in that they have a lot of depth  read more

Both take place at strict girls only schools. The main characters in both shows fall for a girl who are emotionally unavailable due to their past. The MCs are similar but Yuzu in Citrus is a lot more outspoken and assertive. Their love interests both have a facade towards people. Both shows have layered and well-balanced characters (Citrus a bit more so). They deal with problematic relationship dynamics in a good way. They both turn out really heartwarming and enlightening as we get further into the series. If you like one of these two - definitely give the other one a shot!

NTR & Citrus are both Yuri series focusing on the developing relationships of two school girls. NTR focuses mainly on two girls who are in relationships with boys but secretly like each other. While Citrus focuses on two girls who are also step sisters who develop feelings for each other over time. They both have sexual scenes but NTR is more heavy on it than Citrus. NTR & Citrus both have high drama & suspenseful chapters. Also, aesthetically, a blonde girl is in love with a black haired girl (my favorite trope)

A love story between sister If you dislike citrus because the storyline is too much forced or uncomfortable with NSWF scenes, I suggest to watch candy boy as an alternative.

Both shows are dark erotic romance, which tells about the relationship between the step siblings, raising the theme of the negative impact of immoral relationships, hidden one-sided crush and the harm of repressed sexual desire. The difference is that Citrus is yuri and strongly focuses onf homosexuality, while Domekano has elements of a harem.

Although Citrus hasn't got that many kissing scenes like Sakura Trick and there is real drama here while Sakura Trick is just almost only wholesome, there is still some same points. The most important one is "girls kissing with each other" for sure. I loved Sakura Trick, but also the relationship in Citrus is really interesting.

Both sweet shows that explore the romantic feelings between girls in a realistic and balanced way. Citrus is a bit darker, but they're both heartwarming and real.

The two anime are two sides of the same coin, with Citrus being a story of a somewhat broken love, going as far as to break conventions, passing lines that said no one should be allowed to cross, compared to a more relaxed and sweet AdaShima love (more the growth to it) of two who meet and grow close with one another. Both stories are far apart in execution to the point where despite literal similarities, you are met with two entirely different shows, however, that method of presentation in the girls' love genre is still something to see both sides of. One of lust and  read more

Yuri anime, but with a surprise. Maybe romantic drama is a bit overrated in Skirt no Naka wa Kedamono Deshita.

Both of them you could find fun in the series. Just some of the masterpieces.

Both are vastly different but still contain the main character who is a gyaru. Both MCs are seen as "naughty" or are perceived in a negative light, even though the truth is quite different. However, Citrus is a shoujo-ai romance and Galko-chan is a short comedy.

has lgbtq in the but yuri on ice in my opinion is better because the music is such a bop and you can really see the friendship with the characters

Both are chaotic romance anime with wild shenanigans and characters you can root for.

Although fragtime is a movie while citrus is a series they both dive into the same topics. unlike alot of wlw/shoujo ai anime that is usually more wholesome, both fragtime and citrus dive into dark topics. Both couples go through a lot of character development all throughout each anime, in the end both couples go from strangers to people who understand each other. in both anime the couples are teenagers/students and both face issues that affect them a lot mentally. in both anime there is the "perfect, well kept" girl who tends to distance herself from others that somehow falls in love with the other. both  read more

Passionate (kisses). Kuttsukiboshi and Citrus know how to deliver some intense passionate relationships between two lovers. Although Kuttsukiboshi is a short OVA compared to the fully developed story that is Citrus, I'd say both are similar stories from what I remember, in two lovers coming to understand, especially with the varied lifestyles of the more troubled protagonist to their respective peer.

Forbidden love. Aki-Sora is more on the red alert compared to Citrus, given both the events and actual relationship in Aki-Sora, however, the two still go over questioning stances on whether it is right or wrong to commit such acts as given in these two anime. Citrus is tamer but still seeks to question and find answers to a magnitude of questions in this odd love relationship. Aki-Sora is borderline cursed and some may even say twisted, but still has the odd reference to questioning the situation at hand (also in the sequel too). I'd recommend both if you are looking for something offensive relative to everything  read more

A funny Yuri version. despite the comedy, we have romantic and serious moments of affection. But it disappoints because we don't have a real pairing

Both stories are shoujo ai. While Asagao to Kase-san isn't about the relationship between step-sisters, it paints a realistic image of what lesbian relationships are like. It's also considerably shorter than Citrus so you could easily watch it in a short amount of time.

They both deal with relationships and feelings on a level that's rare to find in anime. They both show the dark aspects as well as the lighter sides of life, and they both have well thought-out characters. I would definitely recommend them both!

A love story between sister Unlike citrus, marimete do not use sexual approach as part of plot story. You can see how Yumi-Sachiko build relationship as sister is much more realistic compared with Yuzu-Mei.

Nana is a great romance story even as a standalone anime, with even much more in the manga. Because it has the airing time to deliver much more about characters and story it's bigger and richer than Citrus. Both are doing wonderful job of showing and exploring feelings and relationships in more than less believable and realistic settings. While Nana is about straight couples with build up and no fillers, Citrus is a shoujo ai and a short one of only 12 episodes. Yuzu has somewhat similiar personality to Komatsu Nana, that of being cheerful and honest and maybe I liked Citrus much more because of  read more

Both anime build similar romantic tension between the step-siblings/main characters by following their new lives as they have to live in the same home and attend the same school together

They both explore human relationships an adolescence in a realistic way. Two of the best yuri animes around, along with Strawberry Panic and Simoun.

Anyone who enjoyed watching Oreimo will definitely enjoy watching Citrus, since Citrus is basically Kirino's dream of having a little sister come true. Kirino and Yuzu, the protagonist of Citrus, have almost the same exact voice as well as similar styles, so it's rather easy to imagine Yuzu being Kirino.

The protagonists, which are similar in appearance and character, develop their first romantic relationships. These dramas felt kinda trashy, but also pretty entertaining. Watching these was time well spent for me.

Somehow, Gundam ZZ (at least during the first half) really reminded me of Citrus. - Main character(s) get suddenly transferred into a new environment without their initial consent. - Characters are very emotional, to the point of being over the top. - Lot of dialogue/monologue, that the characters seem to take seriously, but I found it funny somehow. - Situational jokes, which were maybe not always meant as slapstick, but appaered to me as such. - Character actions do not quite follow reason, which is exactly what makes them amusing to watch. If you want to see some hilarious nosensical talk and action with a grin on your face, both titles  read more

Both feature lesbian love with taboo elements and are more based in character and relationship exploration rather than actual plot.

Contains a pure and strong love between two girls. Plus we have a sister incest. but warning, this is for +18.
