Both mc are op.

Imagine if you will, a world where Tatsuya Shiba (who now has emotions and is lazy) became a teacher. That would basically be this show as Glenn can cancel out magic, use high powered spells, and knows physical combat skills. Plus the needless part that they both take place at a magic high school gives it a familiar setting

For one, both Glenn and Tatsuya are overpowered.  Both involve displaying magic that's fun to watch and creates epic battle scenarios and tension at the same time.  Both have one main character ship; for the Irregular at Magic High School, it's Tatsuya and Miyuki, and for Akashic, I'd say Glenn and Sistine although there';s a huge age difference, but they work well together.  

I also love the opening themes for both anime along with the rest of the music.

There many reasons that Rokudenashi Majutsu Koushi to Akashic Records and Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei are similar to each other. The setting is in magic school and the protagonists have awesome fighting abilities and combat intelligence. They also have overpowered magic spells in their arsenal. Later on both series, there are conflict and fights occured within the magic school.

Protagonists who are lacking in ability according to societal standards but powerful in their own unique ways have always been present in all media. Akashic Records and Irregular at Magic High School are no exception to this.

Glenn and Tatsuya are both looked down upon at first for their poor societal standings. However, their hidden and powerful skills draw the attention of others and allow them to gain immense respect. The two have hidden pasts that are actually quite similar. The only differences are that Tatsuya is much more calm, calculated, and pragmatic. 

If you liked Akashic Records, I can almost guarantee you'll enjoy Irregular at Magic High School. read more

The same plot where it involves reluctant teacher and students with attitude, however the teacher in Rokudenashi was a real loser and a bum , compared with the teacher in Kuusen where he might not talk the talk, but he can run the walk, know what I'm saying?

Both anime gives off a similar vibe with one another; If you enjoyed watching Sky Wizards Academy, you'll definitely enjoy this show as well.

Rokudenashi is more comedic than Kuusen Madoushi, but can be serious at times too.

In terms of Main Characters, In Sky Wizards Academy (Kuusen Madoushi) the Instructor (MC) is a talented/OP magician turned instructor after a certain incident while in Akashic Records (Rokudenashi Majutsu), the MC used to be a passionate magician & is talented as well was but was forced to become an instructor after a turn of event. 

Both received recommendations to take up as the instructors role and initially, the MCs were labelled as 'incompetent' but soon that perception is turned around.

So both main character have similar personalities and background story and really similar in their jobs. Which is both main character are a teacher that was forced to take the job and both are talented in a battle or magic with some hidden past. It's really similar with the student too so if you really like Kuusen Madoushi i recommend you to watch this one.

Both use old tropes but do them right. Highly enjoyable shows with likeable characters that have good interaction (and MCs are somewhat similar as they are both considered weak at first), good fights, good animation. Examples of well made shows that turn out to be more than you may think looking at the cover. Both give off a very similar vibe.

These series utilize similar tropes and concepts.

Let's start with the main character, where in both series, the main character is usually looked down upon; that's one obvious similarity, but there's more to it than implied.

Aside from that, it seems these series have a similarity in which they interweave comedy within their story-line, as well as being self-aware of the cliches that they may be using.

The main character looks weak at the first time but actually have a potential. The heroine also pretty similiar, they doubt the mc first but in the end they fall in love with the mc. oh and also the heroine had the same personality. both anime is pretty enjoyable

Magic-wielding confident guys in magic schools putting enemies and doubters in their place is a big draw for both Rokudenashi Majutsu Koushi to Akashic Records (Rokuaka) and Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha: Shijou Saikyou no Maou no Shiso, Tensei shite Shison-tachi no Gakkou e (that's a mouthful... we'll go with Maou Gakuin). 

Tonally they're pretty different (just look at the color difference and the dialogue between their first episodes!). I'd say Rokuaka has a comedic atmosphere with a (mostly) lighthearted main cast facing a mix of comedic and serious stakes while Maou Gakuin has a serious atmosphere with a (mostly) serious main cast facing serious stakes, so you'll probably get a much different mood from the onset. But you'll also find plenty of similarities between the two, and they're carried by our main characters kicking butt and bringing their swagger into battle pretty often, which you might find circumstantially humorous. Both fit the mold for a fun watch that doesn't dive a whole lot deeper, though there's a little more to keep track of in Maou Gakuin.

They both...
- Involve a magic school and feature plenty of spells, exploration of their series' magic systems, and worldbuilding, though the world of Rokuaka is more local in time and space compared to Maou Gakuin's broader world and more robust mythology. Despite the presence of school competitions in both series, those primarily serve to develop the impression the MC has on others; neither series focuses on the psychological scholarly pressures that one might assume from the competetive school setting.
- The aesthetics of the settings of the two series are both antiquated, with Maou Gakuin taking on a Gothic styling and Rokudenashi looking more Edwardian. However, this doesn't have much of a material influence on the two stories or interactions between characters so it's more of a strictly aesthetic choice.
- Both series structure their plots in similar ways: individual events throughout the series hint at broader, nefarious, and possibly conspiratorial shenanigans that provide occasional plot obstacles.
- The MCs have immense capabilities and are often sardonic in their commentary, though the power gap between Rokudenashi's Glenn and Rokudenashi's other characters is smaller than Maou Gakuin's Anos and Maou Gakuin's other characters. However, the two approach their powers oppositely. Glenn plays the fool and would rather not be highly visible while Anos projects maximal conviction is his powers and is open to demonstrating how much of an insignificant tick everyone else is. Glenn is powerful because of his wit and wisdom. Anos is strong because his power levels are astronomical and off-the-charts. Neither are the "plucky overachieving underdog" archetype, and the only ones giving them short odds are their naive doubters.
- The MC involves themselves in both school-sanctioned battles/competitions/duels and battles/competitions/duels beyond the school setting. With Glenn, you'll probably be wondering what clever tricks he has up his sleeve. With Anos, you'll probably be wondering what superpower he'll just casually introduce. With both, you might be wondering what sorts of snarky punchlines and smalltalk they'll be dropping in.
- Despite the MC's powers, others remain skeptical about their abilities. Because of that, both series feature the MC adapting and experimenting with a school setting that's much smaller than their backstories. At the same time, the MC's also end up attracting their own crew of feverent supporters, so they aren't universally hated.
- The MC takes a liking for some of the secondary characters and protects/helps them for reasons that gradually become clearer as the series progress. The MCs are more than willing to pound the living daylights out of their enemies but show a much more tender side to those close to them.
- Speaking of those secondary characters, their backstories pose issues that end up roping in the MC. Those backstories also add to the worldbuilding, too. Rokuaka's Sistine has a comparable personality and MC interactions as Maou Gakuin's Sasha. You might also find that one of Rokuaka's secondary characters has in principle a very similar backstory to one of Maou Gakuin's.
- I wouldn't say thematic or moral messages are front in center in either of these series, but they do explore ethics. Rokuaka touches upon the ethics of magic, while Maou Gakuin more directly probes the ethics of the society within the series, as well as the animosity between demons and humans. In some ways, the Glenn's arc is about escaping the past, while Anos's arc is about revealing the past. There's also the idea of an elitist class in both, but in Rokudenashi that idea is very limited to shaping a few character interactions while in Maou Gakuin it's an issue that causes conflict (it's a central plot idea, too).
- There's a scent of romance in both (more openly portrayed in Rokuaka) but it's not a main idea and isn't really driving or influencing the plot, so don't hang your hat on that being front and center for either series. So I guess you can say there's not really romance but there's a tiny bit of romantic tension that you might find peppering the side characters' interactions with the MC.

Both series carry a likeable cast and give the option to either take seriously or not. Both are packed with laugh (you could say that) moments and have good character designs. I go back and look at them sometimes, though the series' ended a while ago.

I couldn't really say that these anime are similar in the term of story, but if we're talking about the MC, there are a few similar toward them.
First, both of the MC are secretly really powerful.
Second, both of the MC dealt with magic.
Besides of that, both of the anime are fantasy themed anime. It even aired in the same year and the same season. Both of the anime have a dark moment either. However, SukaSuka is more a romance anime, while RokuAka is more a comedy anime.

Both shows are Battle Magic School settings, where the main character is slightly older and in a "teaching" role.

Both shows feature similar core character groups, though Akashic Records has a main Tsundere while Assassin's Pride does not.  

Both MC's employ fighting styles that are considered more "unorthodox".

Both shows also feature somewhat darker plotlines running in the background  that become more apparent in later episodes, though Akashic Records is comedic while Assassin's Pride is more of a straight action/"drama". 

If you liked one, the other is probably worth checking out. Akashic Records generally has better pacing and production value, but Assassins Pride has a more unique and intriguing world design.   read more

Both anime don't seem to take themselves too seriously and have a "scummy" main character as part of the show's recurring joke. The characters in Akashic Records are more true-to-life than konosuba, but the animation is just as pleasing to look at. Konosuba has little to no character development, but Akashic Records seems to promise that the connections between characters will change and deepen rather than having one-off episodes

Setting of both shows is pretty similar:
World in a time around post industrial era (though with a difference being, Rokudenashi is set in a world where magic exists)
Main protagonists have two sides to them (on one hand they are just and caring, on the other they can be calculating and pragmatic)
There are some instances of world building, though there is fewer of them in Rokudenashi)
As for art style and theme of the show, Rokudenashi is more goofy one, there are numerous humorous scenes.
Nejimaki is the better of the two but Rokudenashi is quite similar so I would recommend it (but be warned, the last episode took quite a nosedive in quality and whole plote seemed to me quite rushed). read more

The main characters, sakata gintoki and glenn radars. They both have this bad past where they were in war. Both shows use the sames visuals too for this. They're standing on a bunch of corpses (of the soldiers in the battle) while regretting being a joi rebel/mage of justice. Despite being fairly strong, these characters act like a fool for most of the show.

The protagonists of both shows have very similar personalities, Edward being lazier and Glenn being a little more over the top. both of the main characters are often looked down upon because they don't look very strong, but they have their trump cards which get them out of most situations. Also Glenn looks almost Exactly like Roy Mustang.

Surprised no one has recommended these two shows yet. 

Seemingly normal guy who is good with girls comes to a magic school on the recommendation of a high-ranking member of the school, someone who he used to work with in the army. No one thinks much of him at first, but he's secretly a world-class mage with military experience and the strongest asset in the country's military. 

Some trauma occurred related to the battlefield, so he is recommended to come to the school and live a normal high school life. While there, he befriends many girls, who eventually develop strong crushes on him. While he is hesitant to reveal his power at first, he does so to protect the girls and other students.

I think the main similarity is the fact that they're stories give you an option to take it seriously or to simply not. They both do a pretty good job regarding character likeability and designs but Arifureta is behind on backstories. Neither MC has gone all out on screen, so I guess we could say they are similar in that way. Both are a good watch, depending if you can handle some ecchi and strange writing choices. I'd say the writing choices are good if you enjoy drags (sometimes) and character interactions.

Both are schoollike comedies where the MC is portrayed as an absent-minded individual having to deal with figuring out why women can be so absent-minded as well. Only difference is that one uses magic, and one pretends to be a girl to not get sent back into the regular world.

-Both MCs are looked weak, but actually really strong.
-Both MCs are surrounded by girls. (The funny thing is the girls line up is almost similar: -a bit SPOILER here- A princess (Rumia & Julis), A Deadpan Kuudere (Re=L & Saya) and the tsundere one (Sistine & Julis (again... sorry)).
-Both MCs have a tragic past.
-In my opinion, RokuAka has the better story, while Asterisk Wars has the better soundtracks.

A born Street Punk... who's also can't demolish every strong magic... abilities...
but when it comes to fist fight.. He's the victor.. and among the weakest..

Also.. the power which crafted by Glenn... was also similar to Mikoto's Railgun..

OP adult guy protects school girl who is like his lover that he failed to protect.
The main guy in both mess around a lot but know when to get serious.
The main girl in Kaze no Stigma is more tsundere though.

Hogwarts really inspired masterpieces recently. These follow the totally normal school life of a teacher or a group of students as they form bonds with the surrounding students in the most comic of ways. Not much to think about, everything is in the appreciation of the shows.

While the plots are pretty different, Glenn and Yato are practically identical, having remarkably similar personalities, as well as similar pasts. 
-Both have rude/lazy elements to personality
-Both also act rather playful, but have a serious side to them
-Both are incredibly skilled when serious side comes out
-Both have dark past that one wouldn't expect from first meeting them
-Both even look alike, when Yato has his hair in a ponytail.

Honestly my immediate thought watching Rokudenashi Majutsu Koushi to Akashic Records was "Oh my god this guy is literally Yato." If you like this type of character, definitely watch Noragami.
