Here's a bunch of goodies lacking love, many of which are obscure, others just underappreciated. Almost all of them lean more towards being lighthearted, cute and silly. (Not necessarily all at once.) Lots of adventure, too! Keep in mind that they're not all "must-see", but this should still be a great source for finding something new and enjoyable.

Includes very good anime that are older than 2010 and has less than 30k completed. Hidden gems.

Hello everyone, I will try to list here a long list of anime that have been broadcast on French television, being as faithful as possible.

The 80s represent the very first generation of successful Japanese cartoons to land on televisions of the time.
This wave is mainly marked by the youth program "Récré A2" broadcast from July 3, 1978 until June 29, 1988 on the Antenne 2 channel.

There are also some films and series that date from before 1978 in this list but they did not have a huge impact in France, the year 1978 especially marks the arrival of Grendizer [UFO Robo Grendizer] who was a real pop-cultural tidal wave for years, which we still see its influence today. It will of course be accompanied by equally cult anime throughout the 80s and 90s.

It's a good starting point for exploring general TV anime history, and the shows are all worth giving a shot. The list was not ranked, and ordered by release date.

GKIDS is an American film distributor based in New York with, according to the Los Angeles Times, a focus on "sophisticated, indie" animation. GKIDS releases critically acclaimed mostly hand-drawn, international films—such as the works of the independent Japanese anime studio Studio Ghibli—to North American audiences. GKIDS also distributes computer animated and stop-motion films in addition to hand-drawn ones, as well as American films by independent filmmakers.
