Both series have a white-haired, cute girl protagonist. They become friends with the male protagonist - a genuinely nice and sweet guy - and their friendship gradually changes over the course of the story. They both have humour integrated into an otherwise emotional story.

Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso is like even more heartbreaking version of Plastic Memories. They're both cute but tragic love stories.

A robot cannot feel emotion regardless of the circumstances but what if it can connect with human emotion to a certain extent? However, like every reward there is a price to pay and the aftermath really hits you deep down. 'Plastic Memories' and 'Chobits' delivers an emotional level of bonding between humans and androids that are designed to feel almost human. In the midst of it all, the lovely musics certainly did not damper the standard of the show. Touching moments are undeniably hard to ward off as it shows us what it means to have something so precious and alive being taken away from  read more

Both shows deal with 'death' in a sense or saying goodbye to a loved one, both are very emotional shows and take you on a roller coaster of emotions. Though they have different settings you get similar vibes from both.

Plastic Memories and Planetarian are based in the future where robots are meshed into normal life with humans to a certain degree. In each show there is a human male protagonist and robotic female who's lifespan is coming to an end. These shows feature the sci-fi/drama genre and add a spin with romance between the main characters. If you enjoyed either show I'd recommend the other for a similar experience.

SukaSuka is like Plastic Memories if you fleshed out the world and made it stand on its own, setting it apart from the romance plot. Plastic Memories is like SukaSuka because it focuses on a girl who does not have much time left to be with the one she loves. One is high fantasy, the other is sci-fi. Both are tearjerkers.

While I was watching Violet Evergarden, I couldn't help but note the similarities between it and Plastic Memories. Both main characters, Violet and Isla, are connected in several ways as their character is developed and brought out to life. Both shows are similar in story plot as Violet ghostwrites letters, learning about each person's story and getting a feel for her audience. The same can be said for Isla as she and Tsukasa return the Giftia to their homes. If you enjoyed Violet Evergarden, you'll definitely find Plastic Memories to your liking as well

Both are romance dramas, though plastic memories is more cheery (as in at the start, I wont spoil, kinda) and pancreas takes a serious approach. These shows both revolve around death and the desire to live before the inevitable doom. If you liked either, or got emotionally attached (F) you'll like the other one :) have a dramatic Friday night

Psycho-Pass and Plastic Memories shares several similarities. Both stories consists of characters that are forced to deal with a certain problem densely woven into their everyday normal lives in a near-futuristic society, which is as common as breathing air. Both anime have teams of usually two, which consists of a higher-ranking person who oversees the other who handles the dirty work. In each anime, the higher-ranking person are also armed with a highly destructive technologically advanced gun that shoots a projectile beam of light, capable of incapacitating or obliterating their partner--but mainly used for only dangerous threats. Both stories deal with smaller problems in their  read more

Would you regret your memories after meeting someone who'd help you come back from depression? Tomoya is to Isla as Nagisa is to Tsukasa.

Plastic Memories is similar to Hal in it's human/android relationship. Androids usually are in place of a loved one. Both shows are focused on romance and deal with death/the loss of a person. Plastic Memories is more of a romance story versus Hal is a drama/romance.

Both Share the same point of view of AI robot becoming human and drama that they're experienced. However, the feeling of both of them is quite a bit different.

Angel and Isla are very similar. Both involve a futuristic setting where androids are a common commodity. One involves androids with an expiration date whereas the other involves an outdated android.

Dimension W and Plastic Memories are similar in the setting and character element. Both are placed in the future and live coexisting with humans and robots. In each show the main characters are a human male and female robot. Though Dimension W is based on an energy crisis and Plastic Memories is focused on romance and more dramatic elements. If you liked the futuristic setting in either show you'd like the other.

Androids: indistinguishable from normal humans, are part of everyday life in society. Both stories dive into what it means to be human, vs just simply robots. With the spice of comedy garnishing these two series, it's a hearty full course of drama packed with emotions, that will make us reevaluate our perspectives on the lives of both people, and androids.

Memories are important, but sometimes they can disappear without a clue. Plastic Memories and Isshuukan Friends both treat memory loss as a common occurrence, and try to teach the importance of overdosing on memories within a short period of time to create happiness. Both shows also attempt to force feels down your throat.
report Recommended by LassyPlz
Both deal with the idea of living life to its fullest, and although Charlotte is a supernatural show and Plastic Memories deals with androids, in the end, both tell a tale of how the only thing that remains in the end is the memories made along the way.

"Black Bullet" and "Plastic Memories" focus on a team of two partners made up of a boy and a girl who work to help a futuristic society through straightforward assignments. In their line of work, there is also the role of a guardian who mostly looks over the other partner who does most of the job. Furthermore, the female leads of both these two shows have a limit as to how long they can continue to live due to a restriction inherent within their bodies.

"Time of Eve" / "Eve no Jikan" and "Plastic Memories" both involve incredibly life-like androids with artificial intelligence that have been integrated into society and were produced to act as helpers for humans who need their assistance in daily life. In these two similar works, androids are advanced enough to be capable of displaying emotions as well as making their own decisions. Unfortunately, there also exists a limit as to how long they can operate for due to aging within their systems. As a result of that, the theme of loss is another commonality, where people who have grown attached to their android companions fear  read more

They both have two protagonists, a male and a female, who get closer and closer in their relationship as time goes on and the more time that they hang out with each other. Both Okabe and Mizugaki face problems when they realise they are going to lose companions they have worked with and gotten to know after spending time with them. Steins;Gate goes into more detail of this problem with a slower pace and how the main character overcomes it.

Both have the theme of cherishing the moment. Although Plastic Memories is a rom-com, it does convey this message pretty well.

Both medias present us with a duo of a human and antrophomorphised robot, and both shows convey well the slow but steady bonding of these duets, and how they influence eachother in their lives.

The art is totally the same, vibrant colors, and white shadings on the edges of everything... There are lots of comedy in both anime, as well as hilarious misunderstandings and also bits or romance.. Also, both anime share a secret that is the reason for the somewhat awkward behavior of one of the main characters. I highly recommend both of them, if you are a fan of comedy/drama ^^

Love story with a sick girl who won't live long

- Love story with similar feel, specially about "forgetfulness" and "living the moment"; - Main female character super awkward that doesn't know how to behave properly in society, and gets help by the main male character in order to better deal with it.

-Both have a male protagonist (Tsukasa/Yuuta) that have a special bond with a certain strange girl (Isla/Rikka) -Both are slice of life (PlaMemo takes place in the future, with the MC working in a company that produces robots and androids, while Chuunibyou takes place in the present-day, with the MC a member of a certain high school club) -Both are romantic comedy-dramas, though PlaMemo is a bit serious -Michiru and Nibutani have the same voice and personality, and so is Eru and Dekomori

Both focus on a main character having to go through day to day life with their recently acquired cute female robot friend with long light blue hair, while realizing that said friend will soon expire. Both have a heavy focus on "feels".

Plastic Memories and Hybrid Child both have human-like 'dolls'. While Hybrid Child dolls 'reflect' the owner, Plastic Memories 'Giftias' have artificial souls with a limited lifespan of 9 years before they are retrieved. Plastic Memories is not a shounen ai, but both animes have bittersweet moments surrounded by the concept of 'love'. While Hybrid Child focuses on the doll growing from love, Plastic Memories deals with the memories of love when time is limited.

Darlifra and Plamemo aren't similar at first place but what I can relate is the similarities teams work on both shows. Both anime has their partner themself in different association and works together until the end even though some character aren't. After all, I don't know how to recommend Darlifra just because of (one) aspect and my opinion but it is up to you to decide it.

Time is of the essence. Forever doesn’t really means forever and everything is bound to end. Even though forever may just mean a lifetime, relationships and the experiences are carried by people moving forward as long as they live. Even though we are not permanent beings on this Earth, we should live and enjoy every second of our lives with the people we love and knowing new people and learning their stories. Life is a journey that is worthwhile. There’s a start, lots of twists and turns, and finally an ending. This may sound too sentimental lol but please do watch Plastic Memories after watching Somali  read more

Both series revolve around a slow and awkward love story between the main male and female characters and how their relationships grow. In Plastic Memories, the two main characters find themselves as coworkers, but the female only having a set amount of time remaining. The story follows how they become work partners, and how over time they develop romantic feelings for each other, even knowing the impending end looming for the female protagonist. in Tsukigakirei, the two main characters are middle school students in the same class, and they take notice to each other. Both feature the death of a main character before it happens as a core focus of the story. Both feature a duo that love eachother and where the one who is left behind must euthanize the one who must die both because to continue living would mean becoming a monster and because facing the death together gives it meaning.

Both series feature human and non-human characters bonding. What starts out as a work related relationship slowly develops into love. The manner in which the MC's are there for their girls by teaching them, easing their fears or by being supportive in general gave me similar vibes. It's pretty emotional in a sweet way. Unfortunately their days are numbered which causes anxiety and tension. Another aspect both series have in common. Plastic Memories felt a bit more light hearted and colorful overall. That was primarily due to the setting that offered more opportunities for a change of pace and the supporting cast that lifted  read more

Both deal with themes involving memories, and additionally both are romance/dramas. However, ef: memories tells two stories at once, and is set in something resembling the present, while Plastic Memories is set in the distant future and tells only one story at a time. Nevertheless both are great shows, and share themes involving memories.

Both sci-fi anime (which are completely original) take place in the future and involves a group of people working in a company (making androids in Plamemo, spaceships in CC) Both have its share of comedic, dramatic, and romantic moments (Plamemo being more of a romance)

Similar overall message, but more padded and vague (in the case of Casshern Sins), as well as pointless. But there's some action and a post apocalyptic feel to it, so that may be a plus for some. Plastic memories does the job of relaying the message far better in my oppinion though, in a much more real and emotional way.

"Do androids dream of electric sheep" - such is the theme for both of these series, the question of how close the articifical inteligence can be to humans. Both anime have cast which is a mix of humans and IA working for a certain agency someday in a more technologically advanced future and portrays solving cases for said agency and interactions between those characters. If you enjoyed Plastic Memories, you should give Ghost in the Shell try. "Computer Revolution: The Birth of the Most Powerful and Fastest Brains" / "Computer Kakumei: Saikyou x Saisoku no Zunou Tanjou" and "Plastic Memories" involve futuristic societies where people are surrounded by androids with artificial intelligence. In their respective universes, each focuses on the various jobs and tasks that a robot can now do, the interactions between a person and an artificial intelligence in everyday life, and the possible relations that can develop between them over time.

Both series starts out clearly defining the premise of the story. For Penguindrum it is fate, and for Plastic Memories it is how knowledge of the time your death would affect your life (and the life of those around you).

Both anime start off with a new recruit who knows little of the workplace. Both work with deeper philosophical questions and both involve romance. Both anime are set in the near future.

They are practically the same because both talk about relationships with beings that are not human and a human to see if their fates will be enough to stay together forever.

To Hearts and Plastic Memories deals with a robot/android. She has fallen in love with the main character. Unbeknownst to them she has a limited time span. All seem hopeless as things are turning for the worse. They will try everything to bring her back the way she was. Both have comedy, love and drama all in one.

Both series delve into similar themes Whether it be how long can you keep love alive, or loving someone for more than just superficial reasons, etc. Both will tug on your heartstrings

The main heroines (love interests) are both shy, frail, blue-haired, kuudere, moe, loli, Rei clones (my favourite archetype) Plastic Memories is a better show, however.

Similar concept of a human having a strong connection with a robot, with definite romantic elements.

These two anime feature a main male character with dark hair, and a female main character with white hair. One of these two joins the main setting of the stories, the workplace, and the other is tasked with teaching them what to do. These anime are mainly about how the two characters grow closer together and change thanks to each other. There are also other female characters in both series that may or may not have feelings for the main male character. While Plastic Memories has more romance while Yuushibu is filled with fanservice, both are enjoyable watches.
