Great Teacher Onizuka

Anime that involve a mature, smart and/or chill protagonist who knows what they're doing.

Critics & Connoisseurs was a club that was founded in 2008 and ended club activities on the 31st of 2022.

The goal of the club was to come up with a list of highly recommended quality shows that are exemplary either within its genre or universally. An anime needed a 70% approval rate in our voting to get on the relation list. The following anime are all part of said list.

Classic 20th-century series and films that most old-school otaku have heard of and many older fans will cite as the reason they became a life-long weeb in the first place. Some have gotten sequels or modern reboots, while others have been relegated to the past and stand alone as fondly-remembered products of their time. If you want to take a journey through anime history, these shows are the place to start!

Hold on, I know. Some people will never get the wonderful taste of anime and this is perfectly fine. Yeah well, everyone has their own personal preference, but you should have tried it at least once.

No, I'm not talking about shitty anime humor

Anime series or movies with a fair amount of realistic scenery of modern Japanese cities (starting from the '80s) like Tokyo or any other, with a remarkable romantic or nostalgic feeling, like those depicting cities centre, schools or distant suburbs with typical residential streets during particular moments of the year or of the day, like an autumn or cherry blossom scene, or even a beautiful sunset for example, with Japanese crows and black kites in the sky making singing their beautiful call, or a typical Japanese train passing along a road or a bridge, why not with the Fujiyama in the background. Anything providing a romantic and nostalgic feeling of Japanese cities is very welcome to this Interest Stack.

Anime series produced before 2000s with a fair amount of scenes depicting Japanese cities in the '80s or'90s providing a remarkable nostalgic feeling, both cities centre or especially suburbs and residential areas.

Any anime which is popular not only for its story, visual art or characters but also particularly remarkable among both fans and anime critics for its unique and special soundtrack.

Nuff said.

not getting attacked by killer bees

food

a copy of mega man 4 for the NES that has been signed by the guy who invented door bells

and matching socks that don't have holes on them

These are similar school comedies in terms of their humour
