Furueru Kuchibiru

(This is a review of both Episode 0 and Episode 1 of Fuzzy Lips, although they are listed separately on MAL.)

Fuzzy Lips is utterly fantastic and I recommend it to everyone, especially other women. Hentai is full of quirks that… bother me particularly as a woman who likes men, but Fuzzy Lips is perfection. The male lead is cute, which we all know is something that hentai lacks, the dicks are great, and in my opinion the fetish material appeals greatly to women. It’s my personal all-time favourite hentai OVA. Put out by Pashmina, animated by Studio 1st, the studio also responsible for Junjou Shoujo ... Et Cetera, Ane Kyun, Otome Hime and Mokkai Shiyo, and are one of the best studio animating hentai. I rate it a 10 among hentai, and unironically rate it a 9 alongside other anime. I rate it higher than anime that are probably more objectively quality like Cardcaptor Sakura or Fate/Zero, but hear me out.

Objective ‘quality’ doesn’t interest me as much as it seems to interest other reviewers and critics of anime.The thing I look for is… longevity. Or more accurately ‘how much I think about an anime after watching it’. The reasons someone thinks about a show is entirely subjective, from story elements that appeal to you more than it would anyone else, or an unique art-style that you can’t get anywhere else. Do I just think about Fuzzy Lips so much because it’s just a perfect combination of fetishes I adore and can’t get effort of, with an art style that is everything I want in a hentai, along with the annexing all the little quirks of hentai that turn me off a show? Probably. God damn it’s so great. The leads are adorable, the art style is that perfect mix of adorable and mature, and the animation is stellar.

The plot is simple, I won’t go on and on about how ‘but this has a plot!’ as if that means anything or makes a hentai better. A male teacher and a trouble maker school girl student are in a relationship. The girl has an abandonment issues that they overcome while sleeping together. Many of it’s sex scenes are school-based exhibitionist–fucking secretly in the school bathroom, on the roof, in the school yard, and in a Ferris wheel. Male teacher/female student is a great fetish dynamic, particularly one with a cute male character. That’s one of the little quirks of hentai that this avoids so wonderfully. Typically if there’s a male teacher, expect Fat Ugly Old Man Number 312. That meme (http://i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/001/127/371/c77.png) , I’m sure you’ve seen it, is entirely accurate for a reason.

Another one is in particular is what I like to call ‘shit dick’. Which yeah dicks are darker than the rest of the body but it’s like… why not just do the best of everyone. Imagine having the grossest more torn up roast beef vagina in a hentai. No thank you. Don’t make me suffer through shit dick! Which is just a lead in for me to say that the uncensored dicks in Fuzzy Lips are… appealing. I think it has some of the best blowjob scenes in hentai.

I unironically adore this fucking hentai so much I made a fucking AMV out of it. I wasted my time doing that and only grew to appreciate the animation, art style and designs more. Watch Fuzzy Lips, it’s fantastic.

there was no censorship

the artwork was decent

One thing i really hated was the vocals did not match up with the subtitles. I suppose i also aspect i did not like was how the teacher was reaping the benefit of a student and not the other way around. In other words the teacher teaches the students. the students take notes and progress forward in life. That can not happen here because this teacher would rather be rewarded.

My original thoughts was this anime since it was separate from the other would be different in some way but it was not. Not in ... timeline. There was no huge difference. i am guessing there was some budget concern that was fixed down the line.

This is probably the first anime I've ever rated a 1/10, only because I honestly question it's existence. See, there's bad anime out there with bad voice acting, bad plots, bad animation but at least they're so bad you can take some enjoyment out of it either respecting it as a period piece or just laughing at how bad it is. But Furueru Kuchibiru is so boring and not bad enough to laugh at. This anime has no redeeming qualities.

Story: A teacher is in love with a student, they have some dumbass disagreement and the teacher doesn't care if she leaves or goes but at ... the same time is conflicted with his feelings for her. The entire anime is about the teacher becoming comfortable with his feelings for her and the student, who is above the age of consent, is finally able to have an actual relationship with the teacher. Every line, every moment, every sex scene feels so lifeless and bland I was starting to fall asleep

Art: It's okay by modern standards but some scenes looked really weird, especially the beginning part on the toilet. It's worse than flash animation. Not to say flash animation is bad, I actually love it a lot, but this just... looks abnormal. I can't quite put my finger on it. Some scenes are very out of place compared to the flow and speed of other scenes.

Sound: It's normal. Nothing to comment on this unless you want to count the boring pointless lines the characters say. It's a waste of breath.

Character: Absolute trash. The teacher almost has no soul. He has no defining personality traits besides he doesn't know how he feels about the relationship, accept he does know but pretends to not because he's a dumb anime character. I don't know what to call this trope or even if I described it correctly, but this is not how a normal person acts and thinks, or a bad anime character for that matter. Chris from Garzey's Wing had more of a personality than this blank slate self insert robot.

The girl just wants to bone and be loved by him, that is her entire purpose in life. She's pretty boring herself.

Enjoyment: Zero. I couldn't even get a half chub to this snorefest. The sex is SO BLAND. Even if you like plain ol' missionary lovey dovey sex this is bound to put you to sleep. No interesting positions, not even good sex dialogue . No amazing climaxes or money shots. You'll just have to watch it for yourself to see how unimaginative this is.

Overall: It's garbage. This anime didn't need to be made. I haven't read the manga but I doubt it's as bad as this abomination. At least if it was REALLY bad I could laugh at some parts but with this I was neither laughing or aroused. Anime like this serve no purpose. It did not need to exist and I doubt it made any money. Skip this one, this is the first time I've actually wanted my wasted time back. Usually I think that "oh well this anime was bad but im glad I watched it to satiate my curiosity" I did not have that feeling with this one.
