Hello everyone, I will try to list here a long list of anime that have been broadcast on French television, being as faithful as possible.

The 80s represent the very first generation of successful Japanese cartoons to land on televisions of the time.
This wave is mainly marked by the youth program "Récré A2" broadcast from July 3, 1978 until June 29, 1988 on the Antenne 2 channel.

There are also some films and series that date from before 1978 in this list but they did not have a huge impact in France, the year 1978 especially marks the arrival of Grendizer [UFO Robo Grendizer] who was a real pop-cultural tidal wave for years, which we still see its influence today. It will of course be accompanied by equally cult anime throughout the 80s and 90s.

(Sorry for some missing anime, usually it's because they're not on MAL)

(And also I'm doing this whole thread by translating it on google translate, sorry in advance for the bad turns of phrase)

Ichirou Mizuki is a japanese singer and actor, he is known as the "Emperor of Anime Music" due to his countless and valuable contributions to the scene of anime music over his long career spanning over 50 years.

This list is a collection of series that I view are important when it comes to experiencing the performance of Ichirou Mizuki "Aniki" through his work on anime series. Ordered on how important part of the experience the performance plays when it comes to the series as a whole.

This stack is intended as a guide for people interested in the artist and their works and wanting to be able to experience the most important performances and the works of the artist and the experience that these works and performances provide to the audience as a part of a series or a film.

These are old anime on Crunchyroll, at least as far as MAL identifies them. The stack is ordered newest to oldest.

I started with the oldest anime on MAL: Winter 1917 (hard to believe but there are actually two entries). I scanned through the seasons and years, looking for anime with the Crunchyroll logo and stacked them here. The oldest is Lupin III from Fall 1971. I stopped stacking after Fall 1989. Sadly, it appears the link from the CR icon to the series on CR is broken. The links for HIDIVE and Funimation seem to work.

As to accuracy or completeness, there are no guarantees either way. MAL could be mistaken about a show being on CR and conversely, there are anime on CR that MAL doesn't flag. On top of that, the shows licensed by CR change over time so this stack will go out of date and I don't have firm plans to maintain it.

In passing, I noticed a few things:
-- there are no MAL entries for Fall 1918 through Summer 1926.
-- there are no MAL entries for Summer 1945 through Spring 1947
-- the first multi-season series was "Instant History" in Spring 1961
-- prior to Spring 1961, there were many seasons with no anime; after Spring 1961, there was at least one show each season

And here's something else I just discovered: click on the Anime menu on the left of the main menu bar, then click on Anime Search. Not only will you get a search box, you'll also see a bunch of links that will take you to lists of MAL entries based on the link title. The lists can be sorted by Title, Score, Start Date, and Members. In the Anime Seasons group, click the View More link to get the list of seasons going back to 1917. I'm impressed, MAL.
.
.
I don't have a good reason for doing this. I just thought it would be interesting.

Uchuu Kaizoku Captain Herlock aka Space Pirate Captain Harlock is one of the fruits that sprang from the mind of creator Leiji Matsumoto (1938-2023).

MercuryFalcon (27.1K subs) offers a fascinating analysis in the YouTube video, "Captain Harlock - The Anti-Sports Anime".

If you watch the video, you might (or might not) be surprised to find a forum post about Spokon here on MAL:

Captain Harlock lives in the same universe as Ginga Tetsudou 999 aka Galaxy Express 999. You can find a complete watch list here:

And if you just can't get enough of Harlock, this is a YouTube playlist with a variety of videos, including, somehow, actual dubbed episodes (don't waste your time with "Space Pirate Captain Herlock: The Endless Odyssey Eng Dub Ep 1-13"):

Leiji Matsumoto was a well-known creator of several anime and manga series.

Matsumoto was famous for his space operas such as Space Battleship Yamato and Galaxy Express 999. His style was characterized by mythological and often tragic storylines with strong moral themes, noble heroes, feminine heroines, and a love of strange worlds and melancholic atmosphere.
