Based on novels of Yoshiki Tanaka, they are both epic tales with charismatic and eyecandy protagonists, exceptional scriptwriting and dialogues, philosophy, politics, war, and strong supporting characters Sadly, while the whole of Lotgh was somehow miraculously adapted into a long runing OVA series without being canceled, Arslan's anime covers only a portion of the source material and leaves things dangling in the middle.

They are both based on epic fantasy novel series with historical elements, rise and fall of kingdoms, magic, politics, wars, heroics; both stories are influenced more by Persian epics rather than Japanese or Asian influences

Both are fantasy war animes. Great, epic with interesting story but Arslan is more story telling and with not many fantasy creatures and characters.

Similar story: A fallen knight trying to take back his country/kingdom from the colonizer But he not alone to achieve this He built a powerful ally from peoples with unique ability & different motive Similar action: When come to war, you will not see Super-Human-Over-Power type MC in here But instead MC and his allies make strategy to take down the enemy The only different between both anime : - Madan no Vanadis is harem anime with alot fanservice/ecchi element - Arslan Senki is historical-type anime with no fanservice

Both of these have the same plot outline. A well-liked and honorable kingdom falls, the king is taken out of commission, and the prince is driven out of his kingdom with only one or two key supporters. The prince goes on a journey to reclaim his kingdom and ends up finding allies along his way due to his strong likeable character and personality.

Medieval battlefields with a splash of fantasy, politics between warlords, an adult setting, and both have some of the darkest and most shocking moments in medieval/fantasy series, presented to you in that 80s/90s way that you don't get as much anymore.

both anime are to many thats is unfinished too soon, but its still interesting to imagine what potential both could have been in if it found more inspiration to finish it, back in the old days it was you get what you get!!!

Both have that classic fantasy feel to them, and the stories are told well. However, unlike The Heroic Legend of Arslan, Kaze no Tairiku seems like a side quest.

Believe me they are similar. Both about a handsome prince leaving away from there kingdom. Aslan in more past western era whereas moribito is more past Japanese era.

Both anime are engaged in war. Both main characters have to fulfill their destiny. Arslan and Ryner Lute have loyal and caring companions that oversee them. Both needed to have a justifiable ending that such wonderful stories deserve.

Same in the supernatural and fantasy content, just like the record of lodoss war franchise, with an nice attachable storyline and more , the way its not made anymore in decade´s sadly , i miss these kind of serie´s.
