Recommendations

Sailor Moon is a classic for the Magical Girl genre but obviously takes place in a Japanese setting while Demashita! Powerfuff Girls Z is a very different take on the genre utilizing a popular franchise from the West. So, while not similar, the reason for recommending is that they're on the opposite spectrum of each other.

Three girls, who became superheroes, and saves the day by overthrowing the villains into their rightful place. The fight scenes are mostly funny, but can be a little to much when fighting villains with explosions. PPGZ follows three girls, who became superheroes, when expose by the Chemical Z while villains who are also exposed but opposite personality. Robot Girls Z, though unknown reasons how they get superpowers, is somewhat a much more mature theme then PPGZ.

Both are anime versions of American cartoons!

Youngsters fighting monsters and weird creatures influenced by villains, both shows have magical transformations with a magical feel to it, difference is that Binan features men and PPZ features young girls. Episodic and wrap problems throughout the last minutes of the episode to save the day, with slow character developments and solid humor.

Both series have three young girls who gain special powers to fight enemies. All three of them are color coded as red, blue & green.

They have a similar art style, similar gags and visual jokes, as well as the airs of both shows feeling almost identical.

Both are magical girl shows that have a similar target audience. It's a little less romance heavy but it does have some romantic elements in a few episodes. PPGZ is primarily just a fun magical girl show and if you liked Mermaid Melody, I think you'll like Powerpuff Girls Z too!

Both have girls who need to save the world from certain people who get a source from someone evil; Kaitou Jeanne: Devil, Powerpuff girls z:Him (which is basically a devil too).

Children that don't know how to control there powers and act very prematurely. These shows are directed a kids and very similar styles with an eccentric villian...

Cute little flying creatures who save the world with their superpowers. Both Astroboy and the Powerpuff Girls are kid-looking, well-behaved, and were created in a laboratory by a scientist who is like a dad to them. Even though PPG is more light-hearted and may seem a shoujo, both series are shounen in my book.

Both animes are some how inspired by American cartoon > "Powerpuff Girls". "Demashitaa! Powerpuff Girls Z" is a magic girls version of that cartoon with the same characters and similar plot, when "Panty & Stocking" is more mature and sexual version with different characters and story but with similar design.

Lots of magical girl transformation and girliness. PPGZ is more actiony though.
