Mysteries and crimes of the past become the source of greed, conflict and murder in the present. All characters have their agenda and more or less sinister goals (with exception of Jim Hawkins and Miyuki Tanokura maybe). It is the most capable guy in both series who gets things rolling... If you want to see various factions fighting over something robbed that was hidden long ago, these titles may be for you.

Both shows are superb adult mystery thrillers. Kaze no Youjinbou has a much more laid-back approach than Hero Mask, focusing much more on character interactions and exploring its rural Japan setting, whereas Hero Mask has a more direct, western feel to it (the action is more prevalent and it clearly has a much bigger budget). However, if you enjoy a gripping, superbly written mystery thriller I'm sure you'll like both

Man.... That's sad kind of feeling you got when you saw how people were used became guilt ridden, killed and got killed just because of a box of gold didn't you ? Well KADO is also similar to this in this aspect. - Both will make you melancholic - Both will make you feel glad on the choices mc picked - Both have higher powers involved and not at the same time

Mystery, drama and strange happenings. Both shows feature smart characters that are able to solve the mysteries behind certain murder cases which are carefully plotted so that no one is able to uncover them easily. Character's story lines are also explored to some extent.

MC comes to isolated city for solving complicated mystery. Great realistic characters and very interesting story. Both oriented on mature audience. But one is more calm and slow, other is more dark and dynamic.

While Kaze no Yojimbo lacks the intensity and dramatics of Monster, it shares the "peel back a layer" slow burn of an investigative mystery / thriller.

Both series are slow slice-of-life mysteries. Without children and school. Without supernatural things. With similar atmosphere. But Keaton is episodic.

The two main characters are alike, Spike from cowboy bebop and George from Kaze no Youjimbo, They both have a mysterious past and both are great fighters in hand to hand combat.
